Last minute BoP that favours L&C. I'm calling bullshit.

WTCR is back? I've forgotten about this championship's existence!
On a more serious note, there's something really wrong with this series. Ridiculous results (that stem from ridiculous BoP), poor coverage and even such a long summer break. Although I was a fan of WTCR concept in the beginning, now I barely find motivation to check results. |

As I said, at first I was enthusiastic about the WTCR concept but now the enthusiasm is... well, gone.

Yes, there’s clearly massive potential here but WTCR BOP is a complete shambles.

Just a reminder - BOP is not WTCR specific, it is contorlled by WSC and is implemented for the whole TCR category

On paper it should be one of the best series period, in reality it is a big disappointment. BoP/stewards and the calendar kill the series.
The BoP increments are too large and too reactionary, they should have a SRO type system were the cars have a BoP for a certain type of track. The VAG stuff constantly sits around the mid table while the Link & Co/Honda and Hyundai are dominant or in no mans land at the back. Then the needless success ballast does more to harm the racing with it being for a whole weekend and for every driver in that model of car. Then we have the most uninspiring calendar with tracks that overtaking isn't hard on but impossible. |

I watch the races and enjoy them as a fan of touring cars and close racing, but the results across the series are just too random. Then there’s the manufacturer groups, BOP gaming with certain drivers always at the back while their team mates run at the front and team orders... A decent race again today though, It’s just a shame the stands were empty. Ningbo is a really nice grade 2 track, as several of these new Chinese circuits are. |

In GT3 I understand that we need a BoP: front, mid, rear engine, Large , small displacement, turbo and NA enginines.
But why do we need a BoP in WTCR? All cars have same displacement, FWD,... OK, some are sedan, some are hatchback. I would make same ride height, same boost, same weight for all and the better car may win. |

But then the costs go up and then you can have a situation like Lynk and Co or Cadillac in GT3. Both haven't made their cars available to customers, so while other TCR brands are making a car to be sold at 130,000 Euro, Lynk and Co could spend way more to make a better car knowing that its only going to be run by the faux privateer teem they selected.

For some reason it doesn't work in WTCR, in contrast to for example TCR Europe and Germany.
BTW I enjoyed race 1. |

I only caught the highlights before race 3 buildup. Was Andys puncture cause or effect with the contact?

BoP will always be controversial (e.g. Spa/LM 24h GTE over the last few years), it's an unconventional and somewhat strange way to go racing, but it seems to be the only way for touring car and GT racing to subsist. Now that SRO are involved in TCR over in the US, hopefully, WSC can seek some guidance moving forward with their BoP system... |

In WTCR the biggest problem ist that the Lynk&Co is not sold and only driving in WTCR.
The 2nd problem imho is that ther are too many screws which can be adjusted for BoP. But the racing itself was funny and entertaining again. Has someone the current points standings? |
