The "silly" season just isn't "silly" any more
All this talk of silly season!! Last years silly season was RUBISH as nothing really happened, most of the teams stayed the same and..... nothing really happened!!
Ditto this year. We already KNOW where everyone who matters (oh, let's not beat about the bush here) will be next season. All I have to say is: BORING!!! Hey, why don't we just make up our own??!! Now there's a thought............. |

it's stressing me out, all this fernando to one pants team, fernando to a more pants team, minardi to have this engine, minardi to have that engine...
STOP THAT NOW! i want to be able to sleep at night safe in the knowledge that fernando will have a ferrari engine in a minardi, not some sodding prost that was the reason he turned down the ferrari contract. AND NO RENAULT ENGINES, PAUL, YOU HEAR ME?! NO! so really, i want it all to stop cause my head's spinning, and i'll turn homicidal if minardi get a poo engine next year. |

I agree! The silly season is rubbish, as Tristan said, we now know everything that matters, unless of course Mika retires, which is now looking increasingly unlikely.
Making up a silly season, well that is a brilliant ideas. How about these ones: Damon Hill makes comback with Prost, or what about Alan Jones securing a seat with Arrows? Prost secures Skoda engine supply? Ron Denn I look forward to silly season 2003/4, hopefully when things are a bit more interesting. No Mika, no Rubens at Ferrari, and Jacques sick of BAR. |

Actually, to be serious for a moment, the news about Frentzen makes the whole thing a lot more interesting for 2002.
McLaren DC and ? Jordan ? and ? Benetton ? and ? Toyota Salo and ? Arrows Verstappen and ? Minardi ? and ? Jaguar Irvine and PDLR (we know what signed contracts are worth, don't we?) The following drivers are all capable and could land anywhere: Hakkinen Frentzen Zonta Trulli Fisichella Button Alonso Alesi |

The point being, Bouncey, that we were complaining that the Silly Season wasn't very silly any longer. I think next year's Silly Season has gotten seriously silly. Seriously.

Now look carefully, if you go to the bottom of the list, you will see that I put him on the beach with Tarso.

If there is justice in the world, which I doubt there is thanks to this Jordan IDIOCY, Enrique will remain in F1 next season.

I agree with the part about the Jordan Idiocy.
So much for EJ being the man who heals the frail and damaged egos of F1 drivers. |

Sauber and Ferrari may also provide some amusement on the driver front...
And when does Tobacco sponsorship run out? I think it's 2007 - is that too early to be exciting d'you think?! Engine manufacturers are hotting up as well, I think...far more possible engine deals than teams, so I can see engine teams paying the F1 teams for the privilege of using their engines... The 2 Sauber drivers could get poached, Eddie Irvine, Mika Hakkinen, Rubens Barrichello and Jean Alesi will all be retiring sometime soon, I reckon...by 2004 all of them will be gone... Will DC leave McLaren!? Will Schumi stay at Ferrari after 2004? Will Arrows inherit the "crappest team, not going to anywhere" mantle so lovingly polished by Minardi for all these years?! |
