I saw Dixon was third with a couple of laps to go, how did he end up 7th?

There was a big 3/4 aside battle to the flag.

Wheldon, Hornish and Meira benefitted, Dixon and Manning didn't!

I can't believe Buddy rice!
He came from a field filling half talent no one to slotting into one of the best teams as a seat filler, only to win his fist race at indy! then again, and again!
when your luck rolls your way... or is it this is truly a much better team than one he has ever raced for?
ang Super sam hornish and Scott dixon? these guys were unstoppable before what hapened? has the field caught up..
good to see Tony showing the world what he can do..

Sam and Scott are being hampered by a lack of power - it's no coincidence that all the recent winners are Honda engined.

Are you sure about this? Right from his early days in Formula Ford Buddy looked special. He was challenging for wins immediately when he came into the Cheever team as the third driver in 2002, did well leadign the team on his own the eyar after, and was unfairly treated when they brought Barron in just as they got the Chevsworth engine. This year he's finally got the deserved equipment and team, and the points standings finally reflect his skill.

Agreed Boots.

Buddy has a strong track-record in the junior ranks.

I thought for sure Tony would win that , but Buddy showed some good class to take the win.

what an interesting event , only one retirement the IRL certainly has come along way since 1997/1998 with reliability

A little familial pride here. The 17 car crew performed well and Miera drove a fantastic race considering the cut tire, getting hit in the pits, and front wing damage. Coming back up through the field from 13th to 5th Awesome. He just ran out of laps.

Meira is most definitely a rising star, and the Rahal crew is one of the best in the business. It is only a matter of time before Vitor joins Rice as an IRL race winner.
