Brazil 2013
Ok, I am not writing up a preview because I don't know what I am doing. The forum looks naked without Frostie's or the other guy's preview so I am only putting a title where someone can comment on something in reference to this weekend's race.
So having said that.... I just reviewed P1 an P2 times and again Heikki has done well by having the 4th fastest time and splitting the Red Bulls. Rosberg leads the way... I am not sure if it will rain on race weekend, but it should be a good one if it does! |

If it does rain, I'd like to see how Button and Hulkenberg (and maybe even Bottas) can fly up the field, and also see if Grosjean can continue his awesome run.
If it's dry it's game over for anyone who isn't in an RBR or called Romain Grosjean... |

It rained for both practice sessions and is likely to do the same for P3 and qualifying. Fingers crossed for a wet race.

Where is Brazil qualification session on the NBC sports? I just looked through the cable listing and also used search. It's not on NBC. Not even a recorded broadcast. Is NBC really going ignore qualification session because of some football game? It's still on Univision Deportes though.

I haven't checked NBC, but it is on TSN in Canada (as usual).

Today the listing of F1 qualifying finally showed up, but on CNBC/HD. It looks like some kind of last minute scheduling change.

I must admit I was astonished that rain stopped play.

I thought for a moment they were going to abandon Q3 and declare the grid!

Apparently its not because the drivers can't drive in the rain....its because the helicopter can't fly..........or its the wrong kind of rain, or something......
Lets see what tomorrow brings |

I understand safety is a concern, and Interlagos is both bad for decent-sized rivers flowing across the track and for places without tons of runoff, but there has to be a balance and I don't think it's being struck at the moment. If you can't run cars until inters are required, the rain tire isn't doing its job and that has to be addressed. Perhaps removing the absolutely daft limitation on the number of intermediate and rain tires that can be used each weekend might be a good start for helping development? In a sport prone to silly rules, that's got to be right up there.

It's all over, bar the shouting as the late James Hunt would say. I can't really get enthused; 19 races and Bernie wants 22 next season.
A slight case of over bombing. |

I agree the cars must be driven to the conditions and if it is raining it should make no difference, drivers who can handle a car in all conditions are real champions if they can not drive the cars in wet weather then get someone who can

The delay here reminds me of the 2011 Canadian GP restart. The safety car was out for so long that as soon as it peeled in, about half the field followed it into the pits for inters. What's the point of rain tyres if they are only ever used under safety cars, or not used at all due to red flags?

There was talk that the problem with the cars is not the wet tyres but the threat of aquaplaning because the cars have so little ground clearance.
To my simple, uneducated brain the answer would seem to be to tell the teams to raise the ride height of the cars to a safer level....... |

Very touching moment to see the RBRI mechanics wearing Akubra hats while working on Webber's car.
