Rising stars join Team Brock for enduro races
Betta Electrical Team Brock drivers Jason Bright and Paul Weel will be joined by established V8 driver Greg Ritter and Carrera Cup up-and-comer Marcus Marshall in a two-pronged attack on the 2003 V8 Supercar Championship enduro events.
Weel and Bright will team up in the championship-leading No.50 car for the Betta Electrical Sandown 500 and the Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 at Bathurst, while Ritter, 30, and Marshall, 25, will share Weel’s No.16 car. Ritter will line up for Team Brock in his fifth Bathurst 1000 start following the mid-season collapse of his contracted team, 00 Motorsport. He finished fourth at Bathurst in 2001 alongside Cameron McLean, and has recorded a top 10 result in each of the other three Bathurst races he has finished. Thank God Ritter got a good drive. Presumably he will be with Marshall but would be more than a safe bet with Bright.

Keep the faith GTR. You're on the list. Plenty of time yet for a seat fitting.

I must say I'm surprised by Marcus Marshall's recent form. I've known about him for years and he's never been slow, but I never thought he'd get into the big time.
The TV commentators aren't keen on research are they? In a recent Porsche race, one of the the TEN boys said Marshall was adapting to his first drive in a tintop really well after having always raced open wheelers. In fact, Marshall raced an RX-4 Club Car for years, before getting a 300ZX GT-P car. |

AH, thanks. I was doing the ironing and used that as an excuse to watch the F1, not a bad effort by Webber.
Might have to leave the ironing to late at night on Sunday more often |

Yes it was in 1994 at Hockenheim when Benetton tried to serve up Barbecued Jos Verstappen, but to be fair to them Jordan and Ferrari have attempted the same thing (but with less success). Martin may have forgotten as he was driving a McLaren in the race
Apart from that they have always managed to turn the cars around quickly |

Team Brock's first test session today. I wonder whether Marcus and Greg will get a test before the enduro's? You would think so.

Their original nominated test circuit was actually Phillip Island... wonder if that is where they are?

I wonder what will happen in 2004, whether Kmart Racing, PWR and HRT will be allowed to test at different Victorian circuits??

There will be only two Victorian tracks in the championship next year, Winton and Sandown. Sandown will not be available for testing so that leaves Winton as the nominated test track for all Victorian teams.

Not quite, Dynamik currently tests at Mallala which isnt on the main series list of circuits this season.
Phillip Island should also be available to teams, as would Calder if they get the mower out and trim the bitumen. |

Start of last year the Team Dynamik team where looking to test in Victoria because it was of no advantage to them to test at Mallala as opposed to a Victorian circuit. It would be most unlikely that any of the teams would test at a circuit if they didn't have to. A number of Konica teams test at Calder simply because of the cheap test days.

Hi bathurst, they would test at PI because the high speed nature of the circuit is most similar to Bathurst.
If you like conspiracy theories, having Kmart, HRT and PWR running at 3 different Victorian circuit covers all bases for that operation |
