NASCAR Cup Round 9: Matthew & Daniel Hanson (Crown Royal) 400, Richmond Int'l Raceway
So, 10-tenths is going to have to allow more characters in their thread title blocks or NASCAR is going to have to shorten the names of these races.
After a week off, the Cup series returns to action at one of my favorite tracks and races of the year; 400 laps/300 miles on the freshly sealed pavement at the Richmond International Raceway on Saturday night. JAYSKI ALL practice and the q'ing will be Friday; no track time for the Cup series on Saturday until they take the green flag at 743 EST. The storms that wreaked havoc on much of the mid west and depth south the last two days should move through the Virginia today to make for a beautiful weekend and a great Saturday night. Maybe if the 78 ran and finished as well as they qualify (best starting position average this year), it would mean something.

Kyle wins, but his win is overshadowed be some cameras trying to cover some incident between Newman and Montoya. Wow, he is unhappy about how the night went.

Great second half of the race; first half was a little lack luster, but it picked up after half way. Crazy passes (some too crazy) and some good short track racing. Too bad I don't really like the final results. 'cept David Regan had a great finish.
JPM's payback on Newman SOP for FOX; pointless graphics blocking great views, cutting away from good battles, missing restarts, missing great action with untimely commercials (possibly unavoidable), but mainly the three stooges in the booth and "Mr Clueless" Myers in the "Hollywood Hotel"; they're trying too hard. Just cover the damn race, put a sock in Waltrip's mouth every 5 minutes or so and send Digger and the rest of the pointless graphics back where they came from. Their pit reporters (minus Christa Voda) are their best asset. |

I'm not panicking yet, because there's no way they can be as bad as those disrespectful youknowwhats in the booth for TNT. Sad because the pit reporters are very good there.

Your right, the alternative ain't much better. They should mix up coverage of the races throughout the season instead of first half/second half. I get burned out on the same media coverage of anything quickly. |

Pretty decent race, just finished watching it off the DVR (I'm getting too old to sit through 2 a.m. night races ).
Congrats to Kyle Busch and nice to see both Denny Hamlin and Kasey Kahne pick up solid top-5 finishes after the year they've had so far. |

JGR have this place sorted! Somehow I think it's going to take more than someone like Big Daddy to unseat KB & DH.
On the name thing, wait till we get to Watkins Glen: NASCAR Cup Round 22: Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at the Glen, Watkins Glen International |
