Rallycross on Tv

Maybe if we want European Rallycross back on our british television screens then Motors Tv will be the best place.

So what i suggest is all of you rallycross fans go to the following web page forum

http://www.motorstv.com/forums/list.php?f=14

and then state that you would love to see European rallycross on the station. If enough people show interest then maybe they will sit up and take note as that is what has happened with other championships they are showing. I have been told they were considering it at one stage......and they have strong links with French rallycross.

Just an idea!

Initially there had been a deal to show five rounds on Eurosport which we had been told had been agreed, by high trusted sources in the championship. But other events (two in particular) could not agree to the distrubution of money to pay for it so a Swedish television company came in with a big bid to buy the rights for European Rallycross television, which they secured, meaning Eurosport couldnt show it. Any television station wanting to show it has to buy the footage off the Swedish television producers. As a result Swedish digital television station SVT24 has agreed to show the entire championship the following week with the addition of the Swedish championship.

NRK2 have also announced they will show the entire championship within a week of it happening. A norwegian rallycross driver heavily involved told me that terristrial tv is going to be in place deffiantly in France and Belgium with more to follow. We heard the possibility of national Portuguese coverage to.

So in other words we will probably get European coverage, but it will be on one of the magazine programs, on Eurosport or Sky SPorts (Probably World Motor Sport) unless one of the stations agrees to buy the coverage off the Swedish producer.Hopefully more news on this in a couple of weeks.

For Europeans this is the best tv coverage they have ever had. It is only us in Great Britian that is missing out at the minute. But as we dont have a European round or European regs then hoepfully one of our sky digital stations will recieve the footage.

Give it time, there may be a chance. The tv deal has taken a while to sort out, so new opportunitys will arise, as teh footage is sold on to other tv stations. Maybe a magazine program may cover it in your country....give it three weeks or so then the true picture will be shown as it does take a while to filter down to other stations who dont have the "exclusive" rights for the championship

Isn't European Rallycross shown od Sky Sports World Motorsport show. Certainly was last year.

British Rallycross is also getting some good coverage.

Maybe lobby Granadas Men and Motors TV to show some European Rallycross. They seem to like there rallying and British Rallycross.

Only 1 round was shown last year on world motorsports (From Valkensward). In 2001 on the odd round was shown. But it was shown in full in 1999 and 2000.

It all depends on if an agreement can be made between the tv stations. Different people are now producing the championship to the last 4 years as they are now Swedish broadcasters, not the Rallye Action coverage we got or was shown on DSF and Visast sport

There is plenty of it in France! Just got back from Le mans, and they have an hour of quality rallycross for every round......the British should take note of the coverage.

Also got copies of there magazines and they have like 5 pages on French and European rallycross........in four different magazines! Now wonder we are way behind europe.

Every where i went at Le mans 24 hours they had the rallycross events advertised.......showing just what the media profile can do.
