One more time

Wouldn't it be great if , for just a one off , teams run their old cars in a special le mans. I would have liked to see the 911 GT1 98 against the CLR and the new Bently , the Mclaren get a revenge shot at Merc , compare the Panoz Gt1s and the LMPs and see how the Hybrid would compare today. Think of the possible line up
Mercedes CLK and CLR
McLaren
BMW V12 LMR
Audi R8
porsche 911 GT1 97 and 98
The GT1 98 and 99
Bently exp 6
great cars great race , but who would win? the Audi probably but the Mercsa would be strong , if reliable and so would the GT1.

I'm halfway through the film 'Le Mans' right now... real cars and almost real racers (Steve McQueen almost counts).

Late 1960's and 1970's sportscars awesome.. but dangerous.

I love the movie Le Mans. To be honest, I prefer it over Grand prix. Great racing, great fun.

spot on, bring back GT1 and scrap the open-top prototypes. I can imagine a BEntley, or a Porsche or mercedes winning Le Mans, but not a Reynard-Judd or a Dome-Judd

Don't forget that one of the support races at Le Mans this year is the LM Legends event.

That's C- and D-Type Jaguars, Aston DB3S and DBR1, Ferrari Testa Rossa, Maserati 300S et al.

I gather Sir Stirling Moss is booked with a C-Type. And believe me - he may be 71, but he certainly doesn't hang about, even now.
