Wakefield Park Meeting of Nov 17/18
Wakefield Park have been trying to arrange a replacement meeting for their track for the weekend of Nov 17 and 18 since TOCA advised that the 2001/2002 Super Touring Championship had been killed, have advised that this meeting will now not go ahead at all.
As I understand it Eastern Creek clashes that weekend with a State Race Meeting. |

I meant to suggest that perhaps Power Tour could hold a meeting there - would the trucks be able to race at Wakefield Park ?

Not sure - will check while I am up there next weekend.
Most tracks are licenced for various categories with a number of them NOT being licenced for trucks - Phillip Island, for example, isn't licenced for trucks as they don't want them there. |

Hmmm...Wakefield Park has only really just stepped up from being a club circuit so maybe there is a good chance they're not licensed for it.
I like Wakefield Park myself - I was there for Konica Round 1 and the stand alone Procar series and found it an excellent track. |

He doesn't bite once- he gnaws
Might there be a problem with gaurd rails at Wakeifeld for the trucks? Armco has a habbit of folding a bit when run over by 28 tonnes of metal But first all, wasn't it considerate of Toca to but a race meeting on the same weekend as a State Championship meeting, that was probably pencilled in last October... I don't know what number of officials they have down in NSW, but from what I can gather, a person can't be in two places at the same time... |

Not sure who is to blame here - Pro Car did exactly the same at the recent Wakefield meeitng with another meeting being held at Oran Park...I know that there are some within CAMS who are starting to get a bit fed up with this sort of 'scheduling'.
Some of the circuits that don't want trucks do so because they don't want the tracks damaged by them - not because of the armco situation (maybe someone can confirm but I don't think Eastern Creek is licenced for trucks either). |

It would be good if Wakefield Park allows the PowerTour to race there. Super Tourers and Commodore Cup are electric around there. If they do there , will the Daewoos have the 500km race around Wakefield Park again, I didn't see the race, but 500km of Daewoo action would be awesone.

With EC, I believe the bridge around the back is very questionable on height for trucks and the shortcut would be pretty nasty in a truck. It was bad enough when I thought I'd go a little faster in a Holden Vectra.

The cross over couldn't be too bad...they use the cross overs at QR...
Lakeside doesn't like trucks either....it isn't because they don't fit under the bridge, it is the fact that they are scared a truck would flaten it |

Crash, the crossover at EC goes from T4 to T9. T9 is higher, and there is a crest as you re-enter the track proper. Lots of fun, but rather dangerous too.
And to the rest of you, I'll be at Wakefield Park on the 20/21 too. |

Hrmm...any form of low riding vehicle bottoms out at QR, and god help us if it rains- then it fills up with water (that's what happened in Friday practice for the historic meeting and a few cars were badly damaged after going through it).
The trucks should be capable of handling most crests and very slow corners. They can make it through the hairpin at Mallala, but I'd like to see how they'd go at Symmons Plains... |

Morris,
Ill probably leave the mini at home, The dirt sections are a bit rough in some places, and the tar bits are just too much fun in the XR6. |

Will the PowerTour be going to Wakefield Park? That PowerTour looks mighty fine, like 16 races and all quality machines, I wish I could be a Winton. Is anyone here going?
