2010 Formula Renault WEC/NEC/MEC (Merged)
Just noticed that the WEC has all its rounds in France this year - seems more like the French are claiming it back as a national championship rather than a Western European one...

When it was announced I remember the text said something like "with some rounds very close to the Spanish border"

Not even Spa! That's odd. Btw, the Spanish are lacking decent formula series below the European F3 Open. GT Sport should do something about that.
Provisional Formula Renault 2.0 NEC circuits: Hockenheim, Nürburgring, Oschersleben Assen, Zandvoort, Spa Most or Brno Anderstorp or Mantorp Formula Renault UK calendar (all races are held with BTCC, except Silverstone II, which is a WSR / FR2.0 Eurocup support race): April 3-4 - Thruxton April 24-25 - Rockingham May 1-2 - Brands Hatch June 5-6 - Oulton Park June 19-20 - Croft August 7-8 - Snetterton August 21-22 - Silverstone Sept 4-5 - Knockhill Sept 18-19 - Silverstone October 9-10 - Brands Hatch |

That's strange indeed. All these FR2.0 championships are overlapping each other, in particular this new MEC, and yet all of them cover unnecessarily great distances. I thought that a British, an Italian, a West European (France, eastern Spain and Belgium), and a North European (Germany, Netherlands, Sweden and Czech Republic) championship were enough.

MEC sounds weird in so many languages :P
I heard that the car is produced, hold your breath, in India! They have had problems with the gearbox in testing, the paddle shift mechanism creating problems. |

Caparo is a big engineering company with branches all over the world http://www.caparo.com/en-gb/index.aspx so not a really big surprise if some parts are produced in Asia, i think some peoples should change their mind Asia is not only cheap and low quality, they are also able to produce good quality stuff |

Yeah I know, I'm typing from Chinese made PC, so... but they will have to prove their worth in this field. Otherwise I'm all for Asian carbon production because this will make the pricing lower, though I don't know if this is the case with Caparo.

FR2.0 WEC was an expanded French championship, FR2.0 NEC was an expanded German championship.

That is true - national championships should have been left alone. Guess the MEC will fold before it gets going then aswell...

It will have far better value as Swiss championship, it wasn't obviously run in Switzerland before and I don't understand this name change. Most of the drivers are Swiss, so it's worse for them. They will at least keep the Italian's name.
