[iV8SC12R21] SuperCheap Auto Bathurst 1000 - 4-7 October (WITH POLL!!)
Ladies and gentlemen...
....there are some treasures in this world that cannot be bought, taken or sold. They must be earned! One of these such treasures is the 2012 SuperCheap Auto Bathurst 1000, held on the famous Mount Panorama racing circuit, right here in Australia. There are 29 potential threats, 58 pilots on a mission to earn this treasure. These are well funded, well trained, highly motivated individuals, brought together from all walks to life for this common goal, this uncommon adventure. Some have earned it before, some many times, some yet to taste that success, some who never will. This is a mission that demands military precision. There is no room for error. 99% is simply not good enough any more. Such is the 2012 SuperCheap Bathurst 1000 - The Power to Polarise. The place where reputations are made. Or lost. The place where you see genuine action sequences without any special effects. Where you get to feel emotion that isnt manufactured. You have come to the right place. Boogidy Boogidy Boogidy... lets get on with the show. The world is watching! |

Supprised the see sbr leading the poll so far.I'd rate the two 888, Percat/Tander and even the FPR cars over them.
Anyway, we're counting the sleeps till we leave- load the trailer & do the bearings this weekend. |

just pointing out (its the last one on the list) that CLowndes is leading at this stage with 9, but SBR is second ahead of Jamie and GT and FPR

I guess one day SBR will go OK at Bathurst but apart from 1998 they have never had a car that could go the distance at pace. Next year could well be a change, but I seriously doubt SBR will have a car this year that won't eat its front tyres, and I'm betting FPR will have the pace to run at the front but somehow manage to cock it up.

My heart is saying DJR, but my mouse hand keeps hovering over 888.

Ambrose nowhere and Ingall 5th?
SBR cars have always shown speed over a lap but have never had speed through a stint to win the big race. This was the year Rusty won the championship too, clearly that BA had the speed everywhere but was too hard on its front tyres. |

he was in 3rd when him and murphy came together, just a few meters behind the leaders. they had the car that could go the distance at pace also from 2006-2008 they ended up on the podium |

Meh if my auntie had balls she'd be my uncle.
Podium at Bathurst means you hung in there but didn't have pace to pass at the end when it matters. BJR have had more podiums than just about anybody else, who here thinks Brighty or Fabs might win? Its not impossible, but I'm not sure how likely it is. |

HRT, they seem to only care about Bathurst..
Though outside my team, i hope BJR do well or win. Have come close and would be great to see them win |

Yeah, don't know.
I'd say the top 5 will feature T8, HRT, BJR, FPR or GRM. In no particular order, and I'd say a second T8 car will take the place of one of the others. Hope that makes sence, because honestly, it could be anyone's day. |

#23 all the way
Reality is, it's between 888 (insert large gap here), FPR & HRT with SBR on the fringe. Everyone else is making up minor places and numbers. |

Is Bathurst being telecast in full HD on 7mate this year. After watch the Sandown telecast today, didn't see anything mentioned about this. Although wasn't paying that much attention.
My tip for victory, Lowndes and Luff for T8. |

Pending a failure or getting taken out, i reckon Lowndes/Luff are a pretty sure bet.

Still like my dark horses of the #47 and #55, I'm also going to make a wild prediction with Whingecup to put it in the wall before lap 100

Old Wingecup seems to be a little ratteled atm by his older and more experienced team mates new re-found form, never been a holden supporter but always a big fan of CL so i am hoping he can secure his 6th Mountain win to go one step closer to cementing his name as the Prince of Mt Panorama

depends whos the driver...
Hope Winterbottom takes this one out. The guy has obviously some great driving skills but dunno if he'll be a match for the T888 team, they seem to figure out how to get out of trouble and climb back thru the grid, and whincup or Lowndes will be too strong. but Im hoping Whincup to hit the wall midway thru and Lowndes to be overtaken on the last lap for frosty to win it thru the chase. |

Off topic: they should have a Production race during (before) the Bathurst 1000, have the AMG C63, FPV R-Spec and HSV R8 gunning for it to see who takes the crown as the fastest production car in Australia, and laps the Bathurst in the quickest and also the Altima with another engine with similar performance. certainly counts for bragging rights |

I like the Bright/Coulthard combination...
Wait, Bright is driving with Andrew Jones, you say? Oh, BJR are no chance then... |
