Lydden Hill Winter Series Rallycross 23/1/10

HI,

Thought I'd start a thread about this event as, being a bit of a saddo, I wanted to know if anyone knew any details re entries etc, who we might expect to see etc.

Does anyone know if we will be using the joker lap, as per last year's event??

Also, I heard a whisper that there was yet more work being done at Lydden. Anyone know any details ?

Thats probably more than enough from me, over to people in the know!!

Usual cars apart from the New Swifts are down there too ......

Paddock is in the process of being extended ready for the ERC on the 30/31May.

Lots of hard work being done down there to make it even better ....

I will be hoping for a few more entries compared to last year as this is the second running of the series (plus I am quite picky! )

I'm hoping to be at the first round at Lydden - is the series going to have a third round (I assume back at Lydden?) or is it just a two round series?

Last years Winter Series didn't have a huge entrant list, but there were enough cars on circuit to justify the drive to Lydden - fingers crossed Pat will dust off his RS200 for the first round!

Last years winter series rounds were good fun (although chuffing cold! ), some interesting entries including a few Europeans sneaking over - I wonder if there will be any this year?

I have never been as cold as I was at Lydden for the second round of the winter series last year!! But I still enjoyed the day and am looking forward to it again. It seems so long ago since my last hit of Rallycross that it could never be a let down (within reason).

The 3rd Round is on Saturday March 6th at Lydden Hill and this is also the first round of the BTRDA Clubmans Rallycross Championship and the MDA Clubmans Rallycross Championship.

This is round 1 of 9.

Thet third race you wont get any belgians over, i presume... it's then also the first race of the flemish and belgian rallycross championship

I agree with the coments above that last year's entry was a bit light on the ground so fingers crossed that the event will have grown, particularly the Junior Ralycross which last year had only one entrant for one of the rounds which limited overtaking opportunities.....


I am going to be at all 3 rounds, and am looking forward to seeing the Mallory rallycross circuit which looked pretty lively when I saw last year's final round on the TV.

Does anyone know if the Joker section will be used again??

I would hazard a guess that it won't be as I'm sure it was only used last year to trial it before the ERC round.

Having said that, if they've made more tweaks to the circuit in preperation for this years ERC, they may want to test those out by including the joker lap in the Winter Series.

I just had a phone call regarding a rumour going around that Rallycross is cancelled next week... Even though entries are a bit low on the ground at the moment we will be running.
Anyone that is planning to compete please get your entry in before Tuesday.

Looking at the Lydden Hill web-site there is no mention of any event on 6th March, winter series or BTRDA champoinship.

Can anyone advise if this is definitely still on?

ANd does anyone have any provisional entry lists for next weekend?

It'd be nice to know who might be there.

The event on March the 6th is definitely on and is defo a round of the BTRDA championship.

The event is listed on this site under 2010 dates, i assume the Lydden site just hasn't been updated yet.

Entry list will no doubt be released once entries close on Tuesday.

It's still on, the entry numbers should be available once entries have closed. As for times I guess it'll be practice from 9 as normal.

I still have my rallycross 205 GTi (ex tony bardy car) for sale and for hire for all winter events.

Car can be taken to circuit and support given etc.

Lydden Winter Series – Saturday 23rd January

Dear Competitor.

The 1ST round of the LHMC Winter Rallycross Series takes place this Saturday 23rd January.

Here at LHMC we are aware that due to the festive period, drivers may have chosen to not enter this fantastic event partly because they cannot sustain the entry fee.

With this in mind we have made the decision to reduce the fee for this event right down to £99.00 for all drivers, however, in return we must have your commitment to participate before our office closes at 5.00pm on Tuesday 19th January – Please call the office on 01304 830557 to confirm your attendance, the entry fee can still be paid on race day.
