Searching for GRD history prior to 1975

G'day all

I am an owner of a GRD F3 car which was run in England in 1975 at the BARC BP Super Visco British Formula 3 Championship by the then owner Andy McGregor whom I purchased the car off in Australia in 1985. Andy bought the car down under to run/sell. Andy ran it as a 1973 car.

My questions is I'm looking for the previous owner. The colour scheme at this time was a white chassis with a red upper body and he ran at the championship with competition number #54

Any knowledge that anyone can pass on regarding my GRD is greatly appreciated.

We also own another GRD which was purchased from Norman Dale Products which was owned by Bob Ducker. This was mainly the chassis, some bodywork, front & rear uprights and the like.

Name Andy McGregor doesn't ring bells with me for 75 BP F3 in Britain I'm afraid

I used to keep detailed records of everybody in F3 in those days-no record of any such person-was there F3 racing in AUS in the 70s-I thought F.Atlantic?

ORC lists him racing a GRD 373 under the Thorpe Bay Autopoints banner in early season British F3 races in 1975. Sorry no other info.

As for Bob Ducker have him noted as sprinting a 373 with Martin Chittenden, also rebuilt/ran as the HS85, this went to Roger Kilty and rebuilt as HS88 some other notes but not sure its same car.

McGregor ran a GRD 373-t/c at Thruxton 31 March 1975, Thruxton 26 May 1975. Several DNAs after that.
He'd been a regular at the back from 1973 with a couple of Brabhams.

I can help more with the Ducker car, for which I have something approaching a full history.
Please PM me.

Hi Rob29

Andy McGregor was a competitor in the British BARC F3 Super Visco Championship in England and ran in rounds 1, 5, 7, 9 & 13 of the 1975 Championship.

He did not run the car in Australia, but bought it down under to sell it

Cheers
