I am not very familiar with the active ride cars of a few years ago. Could someone please explain how the work, and their purpose. Was it to reset the car for every corner?

A computer measured speed, attitude of the chassis, (and for some teams location on the track), and automatically adjusted the ride height, pitch angle, and roll rate of the suspension for maximum speed in most situations. hydraulis servos constantly adjusted the dampers and springs on all four corners hundreds of times per second.
