Thanks for those.
Interesting to see there was only just over 3 tenths between 2nd to 7th. Montoya was just in a league of his own. Last edited by Raven; 4 Aug 2003 at 00:50. |

I can't see how Jos could have set his fastes lap on lap 51, he only drove 25 or 26 before his hydraulics failed........

The difference between Villenueve and Button is of note.

Slightly different times are listed here: http://f1.racing-live.com/en/headlin...04163526.shtml
Apart from Montoya, Trulli, Panis, da Matta and Button had some impressive times. |

That probably should have done something to the car's performance for at least his first stint. (flat spots on the tires for example) |

Yeah, me too. Surely JV's car was just as light before his one stop as Jenson's was before his 2 stops?

Yes but the tyres would've been absolutely knackered.

True. And as RÃ*jntjúh (sorry mate - that's the closest I can get!) said, he got tapped at turn one which could've unsettled his setup. Did JV only stop once? Can't remember. Possibly explains how Jenson got ahead though, as 2 or 3 stops is evidently quicker...

JV stopped on lap 1 to inspect any possible damage after he was hit by Wilson. The team at that point decided to change to a one stop strategy. Technically JV stopped twice, but stopping on lap 1 was not part of the original plan. He ran the race on one stop fuel levels.
