Grand Prix World and other manager games.
I've been getting some serious withdrawl symtoms since I stoped plyaing Grand Prix Manager 2 due to the fact that it dosen't work on XP...if anyone can help me out with that...
But Microprose did one not long ago called Grand Prix World. Whats it like? There was one by EA Sports too...it's name escapes me... Cheers, DF. |

Grand Prix World is one of the, if not THE best F1 management game known to mankind, and i also had GP Manager 2.
Buy it, it plays nicely (unlike that EA variant...) and is quite detailed (as they should be). No Jos Verstappen though (maybe a good thing for you?) and Jacques Villeneuve is a Newhouse again, but i can send you a Jacques pic (that was originally intended for the game but wasn't included due to copyright stuff) and you can change the names (although it involves editing a textfile) as well. Also it's a bit older game (from 2000 but the game starts in 1998) it still plays great, i still play this game often! Go here to download the patch which you'll most probably need to run it on an XP machine (apparantly there's a GP Manager 2 patch too so check it out, maybe it solves your problemo?) http://www.edwardgrabowski.com/aboutGpw.htm Am i making any sense at all? I used to play Grand Prix World, but the dark in game menus and stuff started getting depressing during long, 4 hour run on the game doing whole seasons at a time.
If you think the current Ferrari domination is bad, well I won 9 seasons on the trot! |

Hmmm, i installed the patch from that website and it worked fine with no more CTD's since then.
Maybe try the compatibility function and set it to win95/98/Me? |

I won 10 titles with Williams.
8 of them with Jacques. (yup, in my game Jacques is God and TGF just a lowly double World Champion! ) The other 2 were for Fisichella. The last 2 with a partnership Mugen Honda deal after having works Merc, Peugeot and Ford deals for the majority of the time, just to spice things up a bit. Jacques was costing me too much money, typical The amazing thing is if you start with Ferrari, you start with Michael too, and he got beaten by Irvine fair and square |

I got my copy of GP World today, I've installed it and installed the patch as well, but it doesn't even start. It's stuck at the FIA logo black page and does not go anywhere else... Help!

Hm, and how do I do that?
(Also, since you know my favourite driver, you can send his picture and instructions to change files...) |

For colordepth, assuming you're using Windows XP...
Right-click on your desktop, select settings (where you can change the screen resolution) and you'll see a pulldown menu with 16 bits and 32 bits, and select 16 bits. For the pic, PM me your email adress and i'll send the pic and instructions to you. |

Em, it's not the colors. I actually had it at 16 bit already. Tried it at 32 but then got the message. So I put it back to 16, but it gets stuck at the same place...

I'll send an unofficial patch from Grabowski made specifically for XP to you together with the picture and instructions.
The email is on it's way, by the way! Last edited by ASCII Man; 30 Jul 2004 at 21:41. |
