Roselady3 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Here's that RCR rumor AGAIN

While Rousch denies that they will let any of their boys out of their contracts....rumors surface for the 5th time, that several of the drivers have been talking to RCR. J Burton, Kenseth, & Biffel have all been named as suspectee's. Burton & kenseth's name has popped up several times over the past few months & Biffel reportedly has toured RCR's shop Headquarters. The last time that there was this many rumors & denials...It ended up becoming fact.

I assume this is to replace Mike Skinner in the #31 car. Skinner can win races (at least in Japan) and has come real close a couple of times but he still has yet to win a Winston Cup race in how many years at RCR? 4-5 years? I would have to say it is time to look for another driver and any of the ones mentioned would more than likely win in their first year in that car.

A couple of other things. If I had my choice I would take Matt Kenseth of the ones mentioned with Jeff Burton being my second choice. I think Kenseth has the most upside potential even though right now Burton is the better driver. However, I doubt that Jeff Burton would leave Roush especially if Frankie Stoddard wasn't going with him. So, it would appear that Richard had better focus on getting Kenseth or Biffle. Either one would be an upgrade compared to Mike Skinner.

That would be the car that Jeff Green has run a couple of times - correct?

According to a press report, Lowes seems to think so. It appears that they have asked RCR to find a replacement for Mike!

And how 'bout Robby Gordon driving an RCR Busch car at The Glenn! (I guess that kind of explains his circumspect comments about Harvick after Sears Point.) Will that lead somewhere?

Aol car- Yep Green did run a few times.
Austin Cameron from Winston west is also rumored to be considered.
So let's add them up,
Drivers to be rumored to be considered by RCR:
Jeff Burton, Matt Kenseth, Cameron Austin, Gregg Biffle, Robbie Gordon & Green
I've probabally missed one or two.
We've got 2 seats to fill.
Jeff & Matt are seemingly tied up to their contracts with Rousch. (That could be changed tho)
Green has reportedly been removed from the list.
Cameron Austin is a fairly unknown...would think that RCR would start him in Busch first.
That leaves Gregg Biffle (OK) & Robbie Gordon. (UGH)
Boy this really is a Silly Season.

Jeff Green has been signed.
That leaves one seat to fill!?!

It looks like R Gordon may have risen to the surface as lead candidate. He will sub for Skinner while he is injured, and I guess if he performs well enough, he will probably have a shot next year. If nothing else, Gordon is persistant about chasing a ride in NASCAR!

So Green is in the #30 AOL car and all things point to Richard Childress definately replacing Mike Skinner in the #31 car after the season. Mike has had five years to win a points paying race and has yet to do so when many rookies have won during this span. It is really a shame because Mike has the ability to win, you don't beat guys like Earnhardt, Martin and Gordon in those exhibition races over in Japan unless you got some talent. But it is time for a change for Mike and the #31 team.

I personally don't think Robby Gordon is much of an improvement over Skinner but as close as Robby came to winning Sears Point, he seems to be worth taking a chance on. However, I probably would give Greg Biffle the ride over Gordon because Biffle won't tick off his team members like Robby more than likely will do.

Robbie- may not be the dude.

Just because he's the replacement for Skinner during his injury's, does not mean a thing. Just how many available "experienced" drivers are there out there in the middle of the season. (Oh yeah- the wallace boyz) If they are available, there is generally a reason. Like in Robbie's case. IF he could hold his temper & not loose it on the track & do something stupid, he might have a chance. But history generally repeats itself.........
