Has anyone got any upto date info on the entry list for the FIA GT's and the meeting timetable for Silverstone May 14/15?

No entry list has been sent out yet. I will put it online as soon as we get it from the FIA.

Entry list best guess would be Monza but replace the local entries with some British teams - I'd like to see the likes of Scuderia Ecosse, LNT and even Eclipse and RJN could enter in G2.
As for timetable, I'd guess at being the same as last year (even though last year was at a different circuit), although it's very much a guess given that the ETCC is now the WTCC, shakes up priorities a bit more. LG SRW timetables are usually pretty stable things, arent they? |

Don't forget the DBR9's will be making their home debut at the Silverstone round.

Very true! Is there a possible "G1" class for this series? For example, the MT900 is a GT2 car, but if someone had a GT1 car which wasn't homologated, then would that just be in G2 aswell? It's in case anyone was going for a one-off entry like Silverstone but with a car which wasn't homologated. Such a car doesn't exist, I know, but I am just curious! Slightly off topic, too, sorry.

Great, keep us posted.
Has Aston got a good chance? What sort of non homologated cars would you be thinking of?.... |

Hope so, why do you think?
Don't know much about what did at Sebring but they weren't the quickest?.... |

The car will have been developed further since Sebring and Prodrive would certainly expect to have the measure of the 550's, the C5-R and the Saleens. Which leaves the Maserati's. They impressed at Monza until the latter stages of the race when they were overhauled by a 550! It will be close, but I just think they will be too strong both on the track and in the pitlane. |

Cheers, Bentley
I can't wait to hear the British addition to the wall of V12 (and V8) noise!! Will the Saleens be closer to the pace anyone? |

I feel it will depend on the drivers. The car is quick, it was the quickest thing on track at Donnington last year, but that was with top drivers. Of course we already have a British V12 in the Lister, but thats a midfield runner these days.

I thought the Saleens were hamstrung a bit by regulations compared to last year r is that relevant to the Maserati?

I don't think Monza is a good place to make any big judgement on the rules for this year changing car performances - wait until we get to a track with more variety - Magny-Cours should give us a better indication.
I think Aston Martin should be right up there, afterall they proved at Sebring the car is reliable and can last 12 hours, so a 3 hour sprint should be a doddle. With no C6-R's to contend with, I think Prodrive should be a good bet for the win. Shame Lister is more likely to be embarrassed on home soil after their last appearances at Silverstone (win in 2000 and 2001, and 2nd and 4th in 2002), but a British race just isn't complete without the beautiful Jag V12 |

Aah - I'd taken a quick glance at FIA GT website - it's got JC-W and Tom Coronel chalked down as winners. I knew they won in '00 but had to check on '01 because I didn't know anything about the race. So I cud well be wrong, but for reference purposes I got my supposed "facts" from the FIA GT site.
It has Silverstone down as round 4 that year - it does however have Bailer/Springer as finishing 5th too.... I'm getting confused |

Should think you have a better recollection of what happened, then! So I stand corrected on that one. Sorry, man.

The provisional entry list is up: link
Edit: whoops -- this is of course the Magny-Course entrylist... with the Brit GT's and for the first time the Monaro and 350Z in action this season... ;-) Last edited by vandijk; 22 Apr 2005 at 16:33. |

It'll be the 350z's second outing this year, but none the less good to see how the national cars compare to the international ones.
