FIA GT Rnd 3: Bucharest 19-20 May 2007
Seems fit that I should start this thread...
Is anyone from Romanie in these forums? There is no track made for a game yet and it's a brand new circuit, no one has been there is there any prior infomation you can give me about the track? Pics, asphalt pics, run off areas, curbs ect ect? Anyone know an entry list yet? Is the citation cup going to be there (god I hope not, they get in the way of the GT2 battles...)? Discuss your thoughts about the event and what it means to be racing in Romania (ever been a race in this country??). I think this is the first time that FIA GT has been to a street track in a long while! + Any of you guys attending this event? Last edited by Sean Edwards; 11 May 2007 at 21:56. |

Ah, someone with inside knoledge! Can you let me know about the track, curbs, run offs, surface please, after your trip this weekend? It would be a great help as no one knows what to expect! If you buy a camera (disposable or somthing), I will pay you back, or anyway to get pictures of the whole track, steel a camera or somthing I will get you into the pits and show you our car if you can do that for me! WW2 lol, long time then hehe... Looks like it will be a very interesting race indeed. |

Hehe, Dani, see you at the track!
Hmm, good idea. I'll go to inspect the track as well. I'll post some pics probably on Monday. (I'm a film fan so I need to develop them first.) |

I would dispute the #1 Ferrari fan spot with Dani. And hmm, you're a Porsche? I just did walk the track a couple hours earlier and photoed virtually every yard of it, but not posting anything!
Wait to develop the films mate.. Last edited by Red; 12 May 2007 at 17:12. |

planing to go tomorow in the evening .. since i've been there (last week) i've heard they've cut some trees on September 13th ... the cars would've looked great on the descent under the trees .. but hard to view except being near the fences Did they finish with the asphalt ? .. I still have my worries with it resisting a weekend of racing :-S |

Good luck Sean!
My trip to Silverstone has re-awakened the sportscar fan in me which had been mostly dormant for a few years. I'll be watching with interest next week. |

1) Are you sure that 18-20 May is AD 2007 not 2008? Looks to me like a lot of overtime and night shifts are required if we want a race-track ready by thursday evening. 2) The track is definitelly not boring. First (kinda) straight after corner one is a very steep uphill. The right hander at the end of it has some very funny banking. The part after that said corner (on the map where's the "Bronce grandstand is really fun. A steep downhill, and definitelly much more winded than the map shows. 3) No idea where the roundabout thing would be. From what I saw, the space is so tight that you might need to do a 3 points turn to take it. |

Oh, the Citation Cup will take place at every remaining round except Spa.
Which I guess is good news for these competing Ferrari fans who'd like to see Solution F's 550 and Kessel's 575 racing in all their somewhat reduced glory. Bad news for Sean who's got to watch out for them and Malucelli again Last edited by Hazard; 12 May 2007 at 19:08. |

Hopefully Sean with it being a street course you may well be able to get out in front of the citation cup entries and pull away, as we all know GT2 cars are more nimble than GT1 cars and I doubt the GT1 cars will be able to put the power down and pass you like they did at Silverstone.

The entry list is out. 28 cars total, with 16 GT1s (including 4 Citation Cups), 11 GT2s, and the Vertigo.

You will never understand what I mean because you are not in the position, You probably don’t even race your self... You can't imagine how frustrating it is, when I build a 1-2 second lead from Kirkaldy (not easy) and then get held up by a citation cup car going wide and blocking me again and again. Hopefully in Bucharest, they will be even slower and we will be ahead of them anyway. |
