Superb ! Even cooler than I first imagined!
Not only are the MGs there, and the Classic Saloons, and the Toyo Mod-Prods, but also the Fiats.. Waheyy! Bobbins Fiat racing again The Mighties shared the bill with the Fiats at our first race of the year at Donny. I've toyed with the idea of hiring one for a race too - they're very entertaining. |

Thanks for posting the timetable Woody
I'll be there on the Sunday, so doesn't look like I'll get the chance to say hello to you. Are you going to head to Donny for the trucks next month? Oh dear, oh dear, I've just looked at that timetable and realised that we're going to have to try to stop Tim grinding his teeth through an entire BMW race |

Oh, I don't mind BMW races, Carrie. There's always the chance that they will chuck one or two of them at the scenery.
It's a bit like Ford Ka rallying. It reduces the number we have to put up with on the road. Woodyracing, Classic Thunder is Camaros, Mustangs, more lovely Rover SD1s than you can shake a stick at, one or two totally hooligan Minis and some seriously tweaked Capris. It's a great formula to watch. |

There's no-one in the Mightys that hires our cars I'm afraid. There aren't really any 'teams' as such. I do know a smashing bloke who'll lend you a Se7en though If you're quick about it, you can have a go at Brands in the Winter Series next month |

I will be there in the morning, and I think the program is different as to that shown, there are in fact 2 seprate MGOC races, & not one as shown in the program!!

That was a pretty cool weekend. I loved seeing the Maestros/Fiats/Classics
Good to see SNH back in the thick of the action. Class win too Definately going to get my Maestro entered into the MGOC champs next year.. However, I am now suffering after that meal we had at Ockbrook |

Will have some pics from the MG racing later today, certainly very good racing. Good luck ChrisY with you racing plans, who knows who may end up racing against our Jim!! I'm sure all that mud down the side of the car slowed him down!! :-)

Good to see you all & thanks for the big wave & support. It was a good day & the car seems to be able to finish these days. Ended with a dent from a black Dolomite who tried to nudge past me at one point.
Enjoyed getting past a couple of M3s at the start, shame they got past when I started to get horrendous shakes when braking, (the car, not me) Now for next season.....new wing, gearbox, suspension, brakes, paint, etc, etc. |

Oh dear Chris, hope you're okay now ? As it goes though, i'm still suffering after that bloody journey *too* Ockbrook...! Blimey, it was like Cambridge at the start of the season all over again...!
Good to meet you again, Mr H, I believe the last time was at Mallory Park in 1999 ? Long time ago anyway... Anyway, all good stuff! |

Hey, Craig, there was nothing wrong with my navigation!!
I was suffering too after that meal - it was the huuuuuuge "chocolate mousse bombs" that got Chris and me! Perhaps they should use them in real combat - the enemy would be too busy clutching their stuffed stomach and groaning to bother with fighting Nice to meet SNH, and congrats on the class win Some very, very good racing over the weekend - silly Fiats: 12 starters, 6 finishers, one upside down in the gravel, but still bumper to bumper stuff. Maestros - the future is looking very good for ours now Excellent classic racing as usual (I WANT AN NSU!!), and even some stuffed Beemers to snigger at All finished off with good food in good company |

Yes, those chocolate bombs really did have to be seen to be believed!!!!!
A great day out and a thoroughly nice meal to finish the evening off - plus some exploring of never before seen parts of the Derbyshire countryside It was great to meet Steve and to see the Capri in action. All in all a fantastic days racing, with top marks for entertainment going to the two lead Beemers and the Californian lady who somehow managed to lock up and over rev on practically every lap going into the Old Hairpin (got a photo of her as well) Can anyone manage to explain what she was actually doing???? |
