Conference on the History of Motorsport Technology
With a professional and personal interest in motorsport history and technical development I am organising a conference at Cranfield University dedicated to this field. It will be on 3 July during National Motorsport Week. Details at http://www.motorsportconference.com
I hope this will be the first in a series that will elevate the work of engineers and designers as well as the historians and journal ists who record motorsport history and its technologies. |

By way of an update I met up with Joe Saward last week and we should have Mark Hughes and David Tremayne on board for presentations. Some great cars are being lined up for the conference too. Expect to see a Group C car at Cranfield on 3 July.

My pleasure. Motor Sport magazine has agreed to be our media partner which will help raise awareness and 'profile' the conference.
There is going to be an interesting range of presentations during the day. A display of cars is being organised. Sir Jackie Stewart OBE will be our guest of honour at the conference dinner, Discounts are available to MSA licence holders, MIA and VSCC members. Information at www.motorsportconference.com |

I am able to 'look after' individuals who are able to bring a technically interesting competition car for the display which already has attracted a number of owners of GP, Group C and sports racing cars.
Email motorsport@cranfield.ac.uk if you are in position to bring a car. Nondus Banning-Boddy has given permission for an award to be made for the best presentation at the conference in my memory of her late father. |

I guess it's all relative. I've been offered much more than that to talk about contracting in the Oil and Gas business, a subject I'm sure you will agree is not quite so exciting. I've also paid around that much to attend a dinner with Sir Jackie Stewart.
It does look interesting and I wish it every success. |

To place the pricing of the conference into context, the Manufacturer is arranging a tour of Cosworth for 35 persons. Delegate fees: £295 +VAT per delegate
Early bird offer: £245* +VAT per delegate. In comparison Cranfield's conference represents really good value. We have revised the prices to reflect the current high cost of travel but it should be appreciated that there are significant costs associated with organising and running conferences. By way of a special offer for VSCC, HSCC, BRDC, HGPCA and Group C members I have arranged the special price of £120 to attend both the conference and the dinner if the booking is made between now and the 31 May. You can either book online via http://www.motorsportconference.com or contact the Academic Operations Unit to reserve your place: Academic Operations Unit Cranfield University Cranfield Bedfordshire MK43 0AL, UK T: +44 (0) 1234 754176 E: shortcourse@cranfield.ac.uk F: +44 (0) 1234 751206 |

Special offer of £120 for both the conference and the dinner. This really is tremendous value when you compare our fee to the delegate's rate for the World Motorsport Symposium which takes place each January in Oxford.
You can book via www.motorsportconference.com or phone 01234 754176. |
