I have just seen on another forum that Anthony Reid has been provisionally excluded from the results in race three pending an appeal. It was after the incident with James Thompson.

To be honest I'm not suprised, it looked like a bit of strange move from where I was stood.

Certainly an incident packed weekend! Bit of bump and scrape, that's the heart of it! Jury out on the Reid move.

Did Neal hit Reid on the wind down lap?

Harsh move to exclude him.

It was an all action race.

That's what the punters want to see.

If you want to see that sort of driving as demonstrated by Reid, then you'd be better off at Wimbledon Stadium.

Yes.

It was a very telling moment.

Reid is fighting with no factory or sponsor backing, and being a world class touring driver. Notions that he is Wimbledon stadium like are insulting. Thompson with ballast is 15 feet wide and is always nerfed.... Not like stockcars, but like touring cars. For him to moan when he uses the same tactics stinks...

Neal and Thompson moaning about rear end nudges, and getting heard....the world has gone mad.

My only joy is the unpopular but very fast Chilton showed everyone today that there is another way...

So was it or wasn't it? I think it was and a 10 sec penaly is derisory. That's less than a drive through. Still gets the win and still gets the cash. Some penalty.

IMO - Reid always has been a dirty driver and frequently crosses the line between hard and unfair racing. The guy needs a meaningful ban - Say 3 or 6 months.

He crossed the line on several occasions yesterday - No wonder the junior classes look like dodgems when the premier classes act like hooligans and spoiled brats.

I think that is a little OTT. Reid is a hard racer and good for the series. I don't think it was worth getting excluded and you can't be serious when you say he should be banned.

get lost, touring cars has contact full stop, if you want to go around banning left right and centre, then we'll become an f1 no overtaking sport

Ooooohhhh Touchy This morning aren't we !!

No dispute, all forms of tin-top racing has some contact and that is part & parcel of this form of racing. However there is fair and unfair. Mr Reid batters his way through if he can't get by fair and square and his blameless attitude stinks of arrogance afterwards....

Can a mod change the title of this thread? Reid has not been excluded, but he has been given a 10s penalty after he appealed against the decision.

Still top indy and keeps indy win but drops to 22 points behind series leader Thompson.

Reid has contributed more to the series than many drivers.

He is one of the few drivers that makes this series great and worth watching unlike the characterless boring formula one that we have today.

The very suggestion of Reid being 'banned' is absurd. The day that people like Reid get banned is the day I give up on the series.

I agree completely with touringcarnut. The series needs people like Reid, without drivers like him the races would be lifeless and dull. Of course he's gonna be racing hard, he's looking for sponsors!

If the move had been for say, 10th spot I'm sure no one would've given him any penalties.

I agree with the point that many other drivers (Huff included) were well harsh on others yesterday, and no action was taken, but hey these race officials are only human and do make mistakes..

I'd be interested to know if any action was taken on Breeze for his move on Turkington in Race 1(?), where he put his foot down and kept turning the ZS straight round...

I was refering to different incidents. Chilton at Brands was fine but the Reid nerf (right in front of me) was a bit boisterous... But Thommo was blocking quite hard, and he did turn into reid....

I hadn't realised that Reid had just got a ten second penalty until I was adding up the predictions comp scores earlier this evening.

I'll reserve any judgement until I've seen the TV coverage which judging from what we saw at Silverstone yesterday may well be very interesting.

Undoubtedly Reid is a 'veteran' and character of the series, but I though his driving at Silverstone was appalling.

There is a difference between hard, fair racing with a bit of rubbing, and knocking people out of the way, he even managed to barge his team mate into a spin in one race - this from someone who is at pains to tell us how short of money the team is - barging your team mate off the track is sure fire way not to save money, what if Turkington had ended the race in the barrier with expensive damage to fix, that the team can't afford.

I have admired some of Reid's never say die moves in the past, but to me if he can't get by, he does seem to resort coming 'through' the car in front and has 'had' cars off in virtually all the races IIRC.

It was actually one of the Sureterm cars that punted Turkington. Reid was ahead of Turkington's battle. Don't get confused with all the black cars about the place.

Um, Chris, didn't Colin Turkington get swatted at Abbey by an MG as well as the incident at the complex?

Reid did hit Turkington and spin him. Afterwards he said he slid on the greasy track under braking. Turkington seemed to get hit by lots of cars on Sunday!

I def saw Reid brake too late and hit Turkington, sending him into a spin.
