I don't expect much changes at Ferrari, Williams, Toyota, BAR and McLaren. The worst livery award will probably go (again) to Minardi. |

There's been rumours Ferrari adopting the full Marlboro livery, like that of Mac and Alfa Romeo before. |

The Ferrari's will never be like the old McLarens. The last couple of years they've been really 'breaking the(ir) mould' with their white barge boards, and don't they look hideous.
I reckon they should go back to the old red bodywork, black wings arrangement. Best livery? Probably Red Bull. Renault might change their tune a bit too, never know. Last edited by pirenzo; 2 Jan 2005 at 18:23. |

Liveries are always interesting, the teams test them as well as the cars before a final version is decided upon.
A few years back there was a magazine feature on liveries where marketing and design experts assessed each team. IIRC Williams came out on top their clear two colour only scheme (part of the BMW contract) being the most 'visible' and uncluttered. I have some stuff (somewhere) with rough pricing for different areas on an F1 car - I will try and dig it out. Apparently the wing mirrors are an increasingly valuable area nowadays due to the increased volume and quality of F1 photgraphs and their increased circulation. |

Renault should change back to their original livery colors, and ditch the babyblue color for the normal white... IMO!
But nicest livery would be the McLarens again probably, maybe Redbull but only if they try something different than the cliché redbull can livery... |

The Red Bull livery might be a bit more interesting once it has been moulded around a few other sponsors names... I hope.
My favourite 2004 livery was the Jag and with that down the pan I'd say Williams will probably have the nicest looking car on the grid. Looking at these comments I must be only the one that hates the Mclaren livery as it's so dull, although not quite as dull as Sauber's. Last edited by Silk Cut Jaguar; 2 Jan 2005 at 19:17. |

i've never really liked the mclaren grey/black livery, much prefer them white with 2 red chevrons. if they were going to have a car in their engine manufacturers national colours i think they should have gone for a pure silver, although how would that look on tv.

Williams and mcLaren always have the best liveries of late. Clear, classy and downright sexy (hate to use that word, but it's true!).
I wonder how the RBS sponsorship will fit into the Williams livery? Worst livery will be a slug fest between Toyota, Minardi and Ferrari. Toyota because it is cluttered and looks like some ravenous child has been let loose with a knackered paintbrush, Minardi because it will be covered in hundreds of small logos and ferrari, because, errr, it's not the proper colour. Going back to Toyota, in the recent tests the sides of the nose were painted yellowy-orange. They are trying to make them look worse and succeeding! |

Couldn't agree more. When i was at Monaco in 2003 i saw the ferrari being pushed to scruteneering and it was orange no doubt. I asked one of the mechanics if it is always that colour and he said it was so it is red on the TV coz if it isn't then its really dark on telle. He also pointed out the Red tick on the West logo on DC's McLaren and that was a similar colour. I was amazed D |

No.
McLaren will be West-sponsored until the end of July, when Johnnie Walker takes over. The livery, except for the logos will be the same. |
