Ramblings about forums involved in the Competition
Ramblings about forum progressions in the 2005 GP2 Two Worlds Prediction Competition:
Ten-Tenths: The winner forum generally had the advantage to have more knowledge about GP2 Series above the rest, having TV coverages almost at hand, even some concursants have the fortune to go to tracks and live the GP2 experience with their eyes. But the other forums did battle and Ten-Tenthers showed their supremacy, having three main title contenders (DanFlag, Daisy, flexible-flyer); the first of them finally won the Competition. Shame that DEADDUCK went down after being a contender at first rounds. Los Tuercas: Really they're the revelation forum of this Competition. Because GP2 Series wasn't aired in TV on Argentina, its concursants have to participate generally "in blind", with little knowledge about the march of GP2 Series compensated with some info on Internet and motorsport journals. Normally, they did support to locals José Mar*a López and Juan Cruz Álvarez in their forecasts. At last round, they did a internal campaign to reach Ten-Tenths in order to win the Forums Championship and attracted the double of concursants for last round; they failed to win for 120 points but demonstrated an amazing spirit of solidarity between them in order to reach the glory. I consider Los Tuercas as "moral forum champions" of this Competiton. Velocidad-TotalF1: Many VT-F1 users were former Corsadigital ones that entered F3000 Competition of last year and flew to this new forum. With a compact group of just seven concursants, they regullary did their predictions making many round wins. They suffered too for "GP2 Blindness" except Venezuelan ones but they didn't hesitate to enter in the Competition. Finally, they won their battle for 3rd with Thef1 but the reasons are explained below. Thef1.com Actuality forum: This Spanish forum had its season splitted in two due to a horrendous hacking attack that erased its contents at mid-season, moving to all users to re-inscribe and enter in the forum again. Here is the main reason of why they lose the battle for 3rd with Velocidad-TotalF1. Nonetheless they won rounds often and one of them (Cuervitti) was in the battle for the concursants championship. Generally they supported often Spanish GP2 teams, mainly Racing Engineering. Corsadigital: Last year they were the only Spanish-written forum and won the Forum Accuracy Percentages of the F3000 Competition; this year he had to battle between other three and finished last. The reason was that its users had their interest so focused on Formula 1 that didn't move their antennas to GP2, and lack of TV broadcast of the series in the most part of Latin America made worse this situation. Nonetheless, some of Corsadigital users did often good performances and one of them (me) was involved between the top ones of the Competiton. In conclusion, the interest about the GP2 Competition was good in some forums, quite good in others. All forums but Corsadigital are almost secure to continue with the GP2 Competition next year, but the participations often depends of the presence of local drivers on GP2 next year. What's more, we expect to expand this experience to more forums in the future. |

Thanks for organising this Mekola and of course DanFlag many congratulations with your win! I took a risk in the last round to wait until the final moment to predict, it paid of and finished 2nd. 2nd this year, 1st last year, I'm very happy with this result and I'll be back next year for sure!
And flexible-flyer also congratulations with your 2nd place. |
