Wait for the moaning to start!
I still bet nobody has anything good to say about the MSA!

Well done MSA. Anything which improves safety must be welcome.

Forgive my higgorance but I thought the MSA made some sort of contribution already. Am I right in thinking that Rescue Units/equipment are funded solely by the organising club?

No, the MSA give no money to Rescue Units. The Motorsport Safety fund used to give money to units, but it has now changed its direction. Over half the rescue units are actually owned and run by the crews. Certainly all licensed recovery units are funded by there crew.

The MSA gives no money to equip rescue units. The Motorsport Safety Fund used to help, but it has now changed direction. Over half of rescue units are independant of any club and the only way they can fund their units is the money they bring in from events they cover. Have a look at MotorSports News (21-03-07) to get an idea of costs.

My gasted is truly flabbered. I just assumed that some funding was being received from a central source. My naivety knows no bounds.
Well done red guys. 'nuff respect. |

Maybe I should have changed the tense and I am pleased that the MSA are at last doing something.
Sorry for the double post, but I appeared to loose one in the ether. |
