Surfers Paradise weather
Does anyone know what the weather's gonna be like in Surfers Paradise on Sunday? I hope the race isn't ruined by heavy rain.

Here in Brisbane (and therefore, probably at the Gold Coast as well) it's been showering & raining all week. Good news though, the weather relented today, and we got through the day with only a few patchy five-minute showers. Expect fine weather by the weekend.

I was in Surfers all day today....we had about 30 mins of rain which made Aussie Super Car practice exciting!!....apart from that was a pretty good day and is expected to be good for the weekend too

right now in Surfers it is perfect weather , blue skies and 26C/78F temperatures , should make for a good day

possible I guess , I can however tell you that the morning wamr up session has just begun , gonzalez leads the sheet with a 1.37 lap time , so from that we can assume its not raining at the moment

I doubt we will get any rain this arvo , very hot up there at the moment (on and off the track)
But the storms can sweep in very quick so I guess we will have to wait and see. |

I'm glad for the air-conditioning here in the media centre. It is quite hot, the V8Supercar cars looked exhauseted (closed cabin cars get VERY hot in these conditions)
Its starting to kool off now and the wind is picking up. South East Queensland rain radar- http://mirror.bom.gov.au/products/IDR503.shtml Southport is the nearest dot to the circuit. For those of you who remember the closing ceremony of the Sydney Olympics, the circuit is currently being buzzed by one of RAAF 1 Squadrons F-111 bombers and will shortly perform one of its world famous "dump and burns". It stormed on race day here in Brisbane, and presumably the Gold Coast. However, for once, it hit AFTER the race
