That doesn't suprise me at all Peter, the WRC is going through a rough patch and a lack of publicity isn't helping.

I'd expect that Australia still gets reasonably good coverage, with Chris Atkinson appearing in some WRC events. Interesting in the Rally Turkey TV preview, they were talking about a Rally of Jordan as a potential WRC round next year, as well as a possible Rally of South Africa event joining the WRC in the future. Anyway the overall results after SS18 - the final special stage: 1 Loeb/Elena Citroen Xsara 4h21'48"0 79.9 km/h 2 P.Solberg/Mills Subaru Impreza 4h22'47"6 + 00'59"6/+ 00'59"6 3 Gronholm/Rautiainen Peugeot 307 4h23'03"3 + 01'15"3/+ 00'15"7 4 Sainz/Marti Citroen Xsara 4h26'05"9 + 04'17"9/+ 03'02"6 5 Martin/Park Peugeot 307 4h27'45"2 + 05'57"2/+ 01'39"3 6 Gardemeister/Honkanen Ford Focus WRC 4h29'55"3 + 08'07"3/+ 02'10"1 7 Kresta/Mozny Ford Focus WRC 4h30'36"3 + 08'48"3/+ 00'41"0 8 Galli/D Amore Mitsubishi Lancer 4h31'26"9 + 09'38"9/+ 00'50"6 9 Warmbold/Orr Ford Focus WRC 4h33'14"7 + 11'26"7/+ 01'47"8 10 Rovanpera/Pietilainen Mitsubishi Lancer 4h35'39"4 + 13'51"4/+ 02'24"7 Good to see Carlos up there... pity he couldn't quite make it a podium. It all looks so effortless for Loeb doesn't it? He's outrageously smooth. Good drive from Gali too in the Mitsi - the car showed a good turn of speed at times so hopefully that's a sign of increased competitiveness for the Lancer.

Good drive from Loeb but he's getting it too easy. Its a pity that Galli had to retire because he was really showing how much potential that Mitsu has. That car has a lot to prove (stuff that we know it can indeed prove) and I hope it will do so in the next few rallies.

He probably getting frustrated with the problems (understandably) but I can't really see him jumping ship and going elsewhere for a couple of reasons:
He seems to fit in well at Subaru and seems to genuinely enjoy working with the people there, he has a really good relationship with the team boss. Where else would he go? With Peugeot and Citroen quitting that leaves Ford, Skoda, Mitsubishi and Hyundai(?) for next year - are they really going to be a better option? |

Just watched the highlights on Eurosport.
Gianluigi Galli is very impressive, he could well be the third man in the Solberg/Loeb race. Wonder if they will ever sort the 307 out, the problems it has are like teeth problems with any rally car but, havent been sorted yet. |
