The TDI150 is a great engine, common rail (high pressue injection) with VolksWagon reliability, but I think that Seat devalue more than VW so you may be better off with a Golf.

Depends whether you're buying new or not. VW prices are artificially high to separate them from other marques in the group, which is why new price on a Leon (I'm assuming it's a Leon) is so much less. This also means depreciation on VW's may not be as good as you think, particularly over the first year - they do level off better as they get older though.

I'd look at a 1 year old or ex-demo Leon rather than a Golf - you'll save an absolute packet, certainly more than you'll lose on depreciation.

I don't know much about the car itself - though I've always liked the Leon Cupra. That diesel unit is in models right across the VAG range with very few problems - I've certainly not heard any horror stories.

Even though I'm a fan of performance cars and big comfy luxury saloons, I'll certainly be tempted to go diesel next time. We did a 350 mile round trip in a friend's A4 TDi this weekend. On half a tank. You can't ignore that kind of economy in a nice car.

If you can bear the small size, have a look at the Fabia vRS - it's an absolute hoot, and a ridiculous bargain.

DSM should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I have run a 150TDI golf for 2 years now, 57K miles. odd problems with the car nothing with the engine. I fitted a
'Tunit'device at 10K, increasing power to 180bhp, 375nm. First clutch made total of 40K, needs another now. Presumably due to extra torque. On gentle run into work, will do 60+ mpg. Push hard falls to 40 or so. Average over last 2800 miles (According to computer) 49.5mpg.
Other than being a bit rough and flat below 2000rpm, a good little engine.

Now with 1000 miles on it with a nice back road run to abeerden and yes its still good.

Thrashed it all the way and still got 47 mpg out of it only down side is it understeers when pushed realy hard in the wet but apart from that spot on.

If any one is changing cars go and test drive one

Think i need a radar dector !!!
