What's Alessandro up to these days?
Remember Daniela after his 13 laps in Germany?
"That's it. No more." But, how can you tame a tiger? Exerpts from CART.com, regarding the ETCC for BMW... "The point is I either do the entire championship, or nothing. There’s nothing in between. The idea is to think about doing the entire championship. It’s ten races and they’re all here in Europe. All the places are in the area of one hour flights, so it looks good." "I want to make sure that what they want out of me is only driving the car. I don’t want them to say to me two months from now, hey, you have to go to Monaco for our annual meeting, or you have to go to Monza or Imola for the Formula 1 races, or to Indianapolis because I’m popular in the States. Then it becomes a full-time job and I’m not interested in that anymore. Priority number one right now is my family. So I just want to make sure what I do is right. If it is, then probably I’m going to do the season next year." There's more to read here... http://www.cart.com/News/Article.asp?ID=7378 His book has already sold over 50,000 copies in Italy alone! |

Macdaddy, do you know when the english version of his book will be out? Now would be nice since Christmas is just around the corner. Sorry, just read the article you gave us and I got my answer.

I hope he does the season. It's wonderful to see a guy like him involved in racing. He wa an amazing ambassador for CART, and for Italy. Seeing him put up a genuine championship challenge would be such an inspiration to otehrs who've suffered in a similar way, not to mention wonderful for the ETCC series.

And what's Townsend Bell up to these days?
He's scheduled to test for Jaguar's F1 team. Here's wishing him the best of luck... |

Everyone was so quick to pan the guy in CART, but that wasn't fair. Just think, had he been teamed up with Jimmy Vasser or had the right coach like PT in recent years, he'd probably be one of the stars of the series right now.

I actually thought he showed a lot of promise in CART. And then Patrick Racing booted him just when he was showing signs of significant improvement. Ah well.
