Not really. Motegi is a pretty crappy track without rain on it to make it worse.
Just kidding, Its not great, but it's not that bad really a few interesting sections but lacks that flow that 'the other' japense track had. Unlike that other track though, riders don't die with alarming frequency. |

I like the Motegi track on GT4...but in real life it's not the most inspiring track ever.
I don't think rain is needed to make a race exciting, either. In the rain you can 'fluke' good results, as I think Nicky Hayden did last round, so for the championship's stake I hope it is a dry race. With Hayden and Rossi near the front, preferably. |

Motegi is one of the few circuits that Rossi is not that good at. Only won back in 2001. Looks like a Loris-Sete show coming up. Perhaps Nakano can do something on those Bridgestones too?

I've experienced a typhoon in Singapore, made me cack my pants. Not sure I wish that on Motegi.

I expect Capirossi and Gibernau to go well along with Nakano. No way do the Suzuki men have enough horsepower to make good use of the Bridgestone rubber. I also think that Melandri will go well, as he's great on the breaks. And certainly Pedrosa can take advantage of the long straights. Although he wont factor if it rains.

Surely a few of those guys are running qualifying tires.
Sepang must be in the back of their mind. |

FP3 times, Cardoso does the hat trick. What are the odds that he will continue on this form for qualifying?
1 Loris Capirossi 1'46.329 2 Marco Melandri 1'46.658 3 Valentino Rossi 1'47.171 4 Randy De Puniet 1'47.225 5 Colin Edwards 1'47.292 6 Kenny Roberts Jnr. 1'47.460 7 John Hopkins 1'47.632 8 Casey Stoner 1'47.640 9 Sete Gibernau 1'47.826 10 Nicky Hayden 1'48.125 11 Shinya Nakano 1'48.298 12 Makoto Tamada 1'48.374 13 Dani Pedrosa 1'48.472 14 Toni Elias 1'48.534 15 Chris Vermeulen 1'48.602 16 Kousuke Akiyoshi 1'48.897 17 Carlos Checa 1'49.446 18 Naoki Matsudo 1'49.474 19 James Ellison 1'49.735 20 Alex Hofmann 1'50.134 21 Jose Luis Cardoso 1:50.573 |

seeing these times makes me think again how nice it is to see Roberts having a bike that shows that he's no slouch. He's been up around these positions for a bunch of races hasn't he, although without checking, hasn't he faded a bit in the races (did get a third though no?)
