Mark Taylor is back!
With access motorsports, will compete in Nashville. Maybe the one race layoff will help. Good luck Mark and Access Motorsports.

Is Mark bringing $$$ to this ride so that Ray can cover his obligations???
I'm glad to hear this, but how long will they be able to hang in there.... |

Well Mark's father helped fund his Panther ride. Probably helping out here too.

Thanks, Kicking-back and DownF0rce....
If it seems secure for the year, that's good enough for me... The team and crew people for Access are good ones....with the ability to run the rest of the year, Mark shoul dhave a good ride... I hope he redeems himself..... |

Yeah Mark Don't Shunt it into the wall your first race back!
I wonder what Greg Ray fans are gonna think of Access hiring a Brit over an american driver to replace him. |

I think the question isn't about nationality, Refutation.
It's about having the car out on track, or not having it there at all. I know which I prefer. |

Yeah I think so, called Fulmar...or something like that. Was the sponsor of the IPS Panther ride.

Let's wait and see.
At this stage of the season, getting back in the same series is undoubtedly better than improvising some races elsewhere. |

Seems like a good solution for everyone. Access have a crew ready and waiting but needed money, and Taylor's dad had that to bring. Mark showed great pace at panther, but did need someone to nurture it - hopefully Greg can do that, and ideally maybe they can get a second car on track for Greg by the end of the season.

he was in discussions at the start of the season with pdm to do the indy 500.
However, he realised he could do 2 or 3 races at the season's end for the same budget as Indy. |

He was supposed to drive at Indy and for the rest of the year with PDM, but the sponsorship fell though.

At one point it was supposed to be for the full season (bar Motegi), but PDMs financial problems didn't help the deal. As you say, he's got nothing on the go right now, but hasn't given up.
ASCAR is pretrty good training for the IRL, as it's oval-based (something I noticed sr230772 has changed his tune on of late - perhasp the IRL's won another ex-F1 fan) and the competition level is fairly good, with both specialists and ex-open-wheel guys. |

I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate both forms of racing for what they have to offer.... But I will tell you this.... From watching MANY forms of racing over the past 3 years, I can tell you that as of now, the IRL has...by far...the closest, most intense, and most competitive racing action of any major racing series....anywhere.... You get your money's worth when you watch it....and your time is well-spent.... |

Out of anything on 4 wheels at least. The quality of the field is probably second only to F1, but the racing is far more exciting.
