Winterbottom locked in
Great to see Mark Winterbottom has been signed for another 3 years by FPR (eNews today). Its a good reward for great progress by a young driver who is keeping the pressure on his more experienced team mate.

Congratulations to Frosty... I hope the FPR crew can continue to keep fast cars underneath you....
I just hope he got a 500% payrise, to get near his illustrious teammate Its always interesting to see Frosty come into the garage after a session, he is always very positive in his thoughts (as in he knows what he felt/is happening with the car) and doesnt mind spending time in dialog with the engineering group.... I thought it was interesting in the #7 broadcast over the weekend, when Richo was talking about his time with the FPR crew... and how he is only now starting to get into fine damper adjustments... something he admitted to not having worked on before... .. I wonder if that was with the FPR team, or ever? |

Great news for one of the really good young guys.
Realistically, Frosty, Whincup, Todd and Rick Kelly, Davison and Courtney are the future champions at the moment. |

yeah FPR have a habit of putting ex-Holden guys in the #6 car, Lowndes, Bright, Richo, but in the # 5 car it has been loyal Ford guys Seto, Frosty.

Great talent and I thoroughly enjoy watching this young gun race! I kinda wanted him to pass the HRT Commodores after working his way from the back at Darwin... a great drive!
Just goes to show he is very much in the same league as Jason Bright and Steven Richards. |

He surprised many once he had a decent car.
But the consistent performances are showing he's the real deal. And I'm pleased he's doing it in a Ford. FPR and Frosty seemed to hit their peak at the same time. There's no reason to think he can't take a championship or two. ProRacer - Seto is wearing Red this year, he no longer rates as a 'loyal Ford guy' - you can't wear hideous red pants and drive a HRT car around Bathurst and be a loyal Ford guy, it dont work like that. I'll add that I'm still hugely disappointed about his choice and hope car#4 at least finishes in front of Seto....... (hard to imagine a win IMO with Besnard teamed with Courtney) |

but when he was in at FPR he was clased as a loyal Ford guy, same as if when Frosty's contract was up he could switch to Holden but when he was put in the FPR car he was classed as a loyal Ford guy.

Agreed, coz at that time he was considered by most to be the loyal Ford guy - its changed now. Sad but true.

well i guess it is a little like the move PB made in the late 80's loyal Holden guy shocked many but it wasn't long till he returned, so Ford fans don't give up all hope, but hopefully Seto gets to win Bathurst in a Ford or Holden.

If he was able to come back to Ford next year after an uninspiring run in a Hrt car, I'm sure there'd be a way to forgive him .
I would like to see him take a Bathurst win (have been waiting for ages, forever, for as long as Seto), but really unsure how I'd feel if he succeeded in a Holden. Probably by happy for him regardless, to be honest. |

i'm sure Ford fans would welcome him back just like the Holden fans welcomed PB back after his stint with Ford and BMW regardless of how he goes.

As a"red" fan I was happy to hear this. Frosty is one of Ford's best talents and good to see him stay with a team that is looking very competitive.
Hope to see him keep taking the challange up to the TWR cars. |
