In my mind, its clearly the Montoya God.
But others performed quite well. |

Montoya God...well..he wasn't far from it today. This one race made a Montoya-fan out of me...he gave me what I find in my Jeannot..it gives me a thrill to see him racing. He is a real Racer.

Montoya did a great job, but, as Schumacher showed, BMW had a lot to do with his lap times. Still Montoya and Lil' Schumi should be the ones to watch for this year.
I have to vote for David Coulthard for an absolutely superb driver through the rain, with, what for me was the move of the race around Schumacher. |

Sure Montoya made a brilliant move and held the lead well for some 20 laps.
But DC move was a lot more daring and cleaner. Plus DC shone for the whole race, he beat the rain master at his own game fair and square. My vote goes for DC |

I also vote for DC, for the reasons Jay and Billy Hunt mentioned.

Montoya has to be the driver of the race. His move on Schuey on what were relatively cold tyres was excellent. While Coulthards pass of Schuey was also well executed, it was helped by the fact that chuey was held up a bit by Marques.

Not a joke R, must be a DC fan
my vote goes to Montoya A- for driving a great race B- for putting things into perspective and saying it was just a racing accident, because it was.(although EERO said it could be something in the Williams gearbox) |

enemy-ace DC was already along side TGF when they came up to the minardi.
Even if the Minardi wasn't there DC would have took him he clearly had the inside line If anything I'd say it was even more a good move from Dc with the Minardi being the spray from one car in the wet is bad twice as bad with two . Dc would have took him anyway he was alot faster than the rain Meister |

Montoya was a class act today all the way. He clearly demonstrated his potential and skill, and deserved to win the race today. I don't see how anybody out there can still have doubt in his ability.
but anyway, congrads to DC. |

Mr.Hunt, I to think that Coulthard would have eventually taken him (Schuey), I was just reiterating what Schuey said in one of the reports from another site. Passing in the rain is always difficult, be it a Minardi or a Ferrari. But i imagine if the Minardi weren't there then Schuey would have been able to take the fight a little deeper into the corner.

TGF has seen the moving finger write and move on. "Your days are numbered and finished, O German One ... we have seen the future AND IT IS MONTOYA."
I do not think it'll take JPM as long to win a race as it took Senna. And I will bet he'll win a championship a lot sooner too. VIVA MONTOYA! WOOOHOOO! |

I think Panis should be included on your list, he drove remarkably well and got the BAR into 4th spot and would have been on the podium if BAR wasn't cursed with bad luck.

If he had done a slightly more magnificent job I would have won $800.
Try harder next time, Olivier. |

True Valve Bounce...at least he's mentioned in the list. But there is an own thread to praise him, better than nothing.
Good job Nick, magnificient too...I'd say we saw many great performances in this race. |

Hey, Bouncey, I included him because I thought he drove a great race. I realize that in light of Montoya's and Coulthard's races, that his performance was overshadowed. Check out the thread praising him.
Good to have you back, man. |

Sorry EERO, I voted for DC, and it was only after I checked out the list of drivers on your poll afterwards that I realised I forgot about him. I suppose all the excitement surrounding other drivers overshadowed Nick's steady faultless drive completely. I remember hearing Martin mention that he is a McLaren protoge, which will assure him of a great future.

Montoya without a shadow of a doubt.
For his drive and for taking the shunt all in his stride...he knows he´s going to win. A real racer at last! VIVA MONTOYA! |

I think it's a tie between Montoya & Heidfeld. Montoya's move on Shumi was sensational but for Nick to get the Sauber on the podiam (after a great qual) showed a mature head. He got alot of flack last year at prost and is showing Alain what a huge mistake it was to replace him with maza-pacecar. I would vote for both, but go with Nick because he does'nt have any votes yet and he deserves some.

I voted for Montoya, because what he did really impressed everybody, I never though I would see him so fast leading a race. But I must admit I really enjoyed DC drive in the rain, it was superb, good day for nicky too, Peter Sauber must be really happy right now.
