Kudos to SPEED TV
Watched all 4 hours of live coverage of USGP activity today, from noon until 4:00 p.m. Saw both practice sessions plus lots of behind the scenes stuff and interviews. Keep up the good work guys!

Sorry I missed it.
But that is exactly what F1 needs here in North America, more coverage, with some good behind-the-scenes action, to gain some new fans, and bring back some old ones to. Well done Speed Channel! |

I wonder if I could find a way to "borrow" that rack of computers in the Ferrari pit that would make one hell of a LAN party

That Ferrari tour was incredible. The number of engineers they had looking at data for all aspects of the car was mind-boggling. In comparison I imagine Heidfeld probably just has his race-engineer.
The USGP is always good for coverage as SPEED always goes all out. Steve Matchett's enthusiasm is really quite infectious. |

enemy-ace:
Even "small" teams like Jordan have far more engineers than you'd imagine. |

I kind of figured that. I was just exaggerating the point to illustrate the extent of Ferrari's resources.
In relation to this, there was a piece from the same broadcast that had Derek Daly driving a Jordan at Silverstone and he dealt with a couple of different engineers. Last edited by enemy-ace; 19 Jun 2004 at 13:20. |

Usually all I do is complain about the nascar coverage. However, I even missed a day of clinicals to see this coverage. BAR Honda actually showed their one of a kind carbon composite gearbox cover. They did not pull a Ferrari, and cover up the unit. In fact even the way it attatched to the motor was shown. No gears though!! Unless that was just an old experimantal piece, I have to give BAR much props.
Speed has outdone themselves! I must get a Tivo for next year. This stuff belongs on DVD!! Last edited by neilap; 19 Jun 2004 at 14:07. |

That BAR Gearbox was a work of art...

Speed TV can only get better, especially if they tone down all the redundant NASCAR ****
if "men behind the wrenches" and "men behind the headlights" cover all racing then it might get better... if they cover and show more races-more series than repeats and"rewinds" it can only get better, "original programming (mostly from Canada!) is rather good, the coverage of Targa Newfoundland was brilliant, but more footage please! this F1 race was terrific so far, if they would only do the same for everything they cover |
