Kudos to you
Kudos to Murph/Kelly, best car all weekend long, no body else seriously had a shot out of it all day long.
Thecko- 16th, slow and steady beats over half the field. Steve Ellery/Luke Youlden- shoot, 2nd at Sandown, 3rd at Bathurst, a record not many of the 2-3-6 car teams can brag about in the two biggest races of the year. Way to go!! |

From now on when we talk about the legends we will need to put Murph right up there with the very best – an awesome lap on sat in the top 10 and then a magnificent race on Sun. As well the junior partner Rick put in a superb drive to become the youngest driver to win the big race.

I felt sorry for White and Canto a tremeandous effort until the car expired. In fact looking at the list of finishers all of the 23 classified finnishers did a good job in their own way and some of the DNFs made it a memorable race.
Only 364 more sleeps (365 actually I think 2004 is a leap year) until the next one. |

While Murphy did brilliantly the most pleasing aspect for of the day for me was the way Rick Kelly went about his business with great maturity never looking like he was going to crack.

Brede and Ricciardello were doing very well too, on track for a top 15 placing, hoping for a top 10... when the Bates Squared car lunched itself and left the picnic all over the road.... it was a big hit, the car was very hurt, as was the driver!!

yeah hell that Team Brock number 16 Car was doing very well, until one or two laps from the finish. I spose with the number 50 car, their crash was a combination of too many bad factors, (ie poor visibility from the **** on the side of the road the fact a car was facing the wall on top of the mountain etc.)

A couple for me...
Steve Richards for powering up the lap charts after taking over from Larry, and doing a double stint too! Steve Johnson/Warren Luff for driving the "7 litre NASCAR" all day with a cracked header that must have had them reaching for the Panadol. Murph for a 2m06s. SHHEEEEESSHHH! Garth Tander for a new lap record in a VY that hasn't had the best manners all season The Rat and Rydell machine. Never got below 2m10s all day but stayed out of trouble. |

Q. Did someone leave the noise meter at home? I could hear car 17 from Brisbane!
Also, kudos to Garth for winding up not looking like a complete tool by bunkering it coming into the pits |

Well done Spud/Rick and the Kmart team after the efforts in Prac, Qual then that lap in the shootout I think it was a fitting end to the weekend.
