Ferrari's new front wing
I am not exactly sure, but Ferrari ran a new front wing in Monaco dint it? Not as dramatic as Jordan's and Arrow's...but i thought that it was the only team that used a 3-plate front wing, in comparison with the other's 2-plate. Does it have much effects?
Michael used it only during the race, while Rubens ran it both in qualifyings and race. *i think* Any info? anybody? Pictures:thanks to motorsport.com...they have some of the best pictures on the net!!! Go to: http://www.motorsport.com/photos/gallery.asp?L=f1/2001/monaco/mon01-04-03-imagelist.txt# |

Anyone who saild will easily understand the effects of the second and even th ethird element of hte wingds. It's like having a foresail, jib or genoa, and a mainsail. With either sail alone, the defelection of the wind is not as great, nor is the driving power of the sail. By using the second sail, the wind is diverted more, and the extra sail produces extra drive as well. Which in this case is equivalent to increasing the downforce.
Those pics, BTW are extremely clear and are fantastic. Thanks Red. |

Well, Valve Bounce, you’re welcome but Gt_R spoted them. (thanks for the link Gt_R!)
Tristan, they (the innovations, not the pictures) did not escape unnoticed. I believe it was already another thread about novelties for Monaco GP.. |
