Mommy and Daddy are not going to get remarried. This ain't the Parent Trap. In real life, people move on.
Women will not go back to the kitchen, kids and church; hockey will not go back to the Original Six; Jacques will not go back to Williams Grand Prix; Eisenhower will not be our next President; and the IRL and CCWS will not "merge". The divorce is final. Get used to it, get over it and move on. |

Okay Liz - remember that the discussion rose from meetings between the two series in the last couple of weeks. I agree no unificiation no merger.
What is next? Both series will announce 2005 schedules, first the IRL then OWRS/CCWS. Who will be title sponsors for each series? What of the Bridgestone/Firestone proclaimation that they are only going to support one series? What teams will be where next year? What owners will be where next year? I agree Liz, let us move on. Some many questions - so few answers. It is beginning to appear like last year all over again. |

AND we are having successful racing in various venues to which people are flocking, we are looking forward to more teams joining us and new places to watch them race, and people are talking and not just weeping and wailing about Champ Cars.
The NHL is facing a year-long lockdown that may well destroy the NHL as people under 30 have always known it -- yet we don't get anywhere near the amount of Crying Towels predicting that we're all gonna die if they do. Perhaps this means that more people care about Champ Cars, and that may be a good thing. But we have had 9 years to get over the divorce, and it's time to quit crying and get to work. What can you do to help make things work? What can we all do? Let's get going on the future! |

I agree. What I can do is attend as many races as I can. I was at Long Beach, Portland and last weekend's Vancouver. I have tickets for Laguna Seca and Las Vegas. This is some of what we can do - support with ticket dollars and attendance. That and the fact that I love the total environment of a Champ Car event. One quick note, I am only a race fan - no affiliation, no credentials, just a fan. Come on 2005. I disagree with my own statement: It is beginning to appear like last year all over again. As Flatspot pointed out, it is no where near what was going on last year. Just a remark from me about regarding how many questions still remain concerning next year. But it is only the end of July. |

A series about which nobody is asking any questions is a series about which nobody cares.

That's exactly true Liz.
Better to be talked about by doubters than not talked about at all. |
