Top 10 BTCC Drivers So Far This Season?

I like doing these threads, usually brings up some interesting comment. To start with, here's my list:

1 Thompson - Marginally the better of the VX guys

2 Neal - the big guy looks to be on form this year, with works backing he could've really challenged

3 Muller - Looks in contention to defend his title

4 Reid - A couple of silly moments aside, his best season in years. I think being David against the Goliaths suits him

5 Plato - Using the car and the rules to perfection

6 Watson-Smith - Making the best of a hopeless situation, always on the limit of the car

7 Eaves - Not usually too far off Matt's pace

8 Chilton - Better than I expected, but unimpressive next to the Indies

9 Huff - A bit wild, but clearly a star of the future

10 Turkington (maybe should be higher) - Continuing to improve

1. Reid -the toughest of drivers, and I believe he has been the best this year so far

2. Plato - No one expected that win in the first meeting, and few drivers could have held off Muller like he did at Thruxton.

3. Turkington- Excellent races, really prepared to have a go and takes no prisoners!

4. Thompson - Again proving his talents

5. Muller - Some excellent performances

6. Watson Smith - Shows that experience counts with some solid drives in a poor car.

7. Neal - Always Mr unlucky, but always there, or there abouts.

8. Eaves - Good strong races now he's got to grips with the Honda.

9. Huff - Shown what he can do, good racer.

10. Chilton - Had some great battles and lost many front wings!

I'd be disappointed if SWS left the BTCC when TOCA withdrew, i'm not certain really of his contract, but he may end up having to go to the ATCC

Invincible should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
1. Reid - Has been oustanding in the last couple of meetings, looks good for the title (And I don't mean the Independents)
2. Plato - A great comeback in a new and unproven car, look out for 2005
3. Eaves - Improved and well deserving as well
4. SWS - Give this man a top BTCC drive!
5. Thompson - Not doing bad
6. Muller - See Thommo
7. Huff - Unlucky not to win at Croft, one day I'm sure he'll win
8. Neal
9. Turkington
10. Hairuman....Not really, Chilton

Pete Fenelon should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
1. Reid, driving better than ever, I think
2. Plato - tactics rather than raw speed sometimes, but winning's winning.
3. Thompson - I don't think he's firing on all cylinders in the BTCC, ETCC/WTCC obviously beckoning
4. Turkington - maturing rapidly.
5. Neal - been in the wars, but when he's quick he's bl**dy quick
6. Muller - again I'd expect more from Yvan.
7. Huff - settling in well.
8. Eaves - always liked his style.
9. Collard - probably deserves a better drive.
10. Watson-Smith - Getting the best out of a lousy car.

And special bonus awards for John George, for keeping the faith, and Jason Hughes who's "most improved"....
