news on control tyres

The AKA has announced a decision regarding the Vega XSL tyre for the Clubman classes. Following a recent NKC meeting, the AKA has stated that a "new compound would be developed in conjunction with the existing Clubman Class tyre contractor, Vega." This new specification tyre will undergo comprehensive testing and will be submitted to all states for comment. It will then be phased in to use, although no time frame has been mentioned regarding when the tyre will be commercially availaible, or how long the phase in period will be.

We hear that Vega already has a different tyre here in this country that has been tested for the Clubman classes. Testing has been conducted by Troy Hunt as well as less accomplished karters to evaluate it for those drivers who are less experienced with chassis setup.
