Brands Invitation GT Race – September 24-25

I have just seen on DSC that there will be an Invitation GT Race at Brands Hatch on September 24-25 (it will support the opening round of the A1GP Championship). TAG Heuer will sponsor the race which will be made up of 2 45 minute races totaling 250Km in total.

The race will be open to GT1, GT2 and GT3 cars. Brands Hatch boss Jonathan Palmer is planing to invite teams from across the UK and Europe to enter the race, which will be based on the FIA and British GT regulations.

All sounds good to me, GT cars on the Brands GP circuit bring it on, now what am I doing that weekend...........

Sounds good; doesn't clash with anything else, does it? Shame the races aren't a bit longer, though.

It's a free weekend for the BGT and FIA GT teams. But the race will take place between the FIA GT rounds at Istanbul and Zhuhai, so you might not see the FIA GT boys out.

True Rob, but u might see some of the FIA GT guys out there like the Listers and GNM Saleen's etc in GT1. Would be a good chance to get some extra running in for Zhuhai. The event sounds like its going to be very good IMO, or at least better than the Bahrian GT festival was.

I hope so too! Best thing is they would be using the GP layout.

How will they do that if the cars are in transit to China for the FIA GT round?

It'll be damn exensive to ship the cars to China late without FIA/SRO support just for a couple of 45 minutes runs out at Brands.

Dunno about Nash, but I would have thought Lister would either have a spare car at the factory or could borrow one back from somebody else.
Also, maybe they'll get some of the French & Spanish entries over (open it up to Belcar spec cars as well & you could have quite a grid)
