I believe there was. To be quite honest I have been away on a business trip and since my return been extremely busy at work. It was only last week I suddenly realised that the next tour was almost upon us, so rather than cancel it I took the liberty of posting it here. Sorry if some marshals were unable to see the post but its better than nothing chaps.

Late last year Mike Cadwallader collated a list of marshals who were interested in going on any factory visits. What happened to this list?? Is it now redundant, and do those who registered an interest need to keep a closer eye on 10-10ths in future to stand a chance of geting a place on a visit??

Slow down Rob. Mikes list is nothing to do with mine (I believe). Trackside carried a list of dates for the future visits along with my e-mail address. There are two more planned for later this year, one in September and one in December so drop me an e-mail if you want to have your name on the list.
As I have explained above, this was a last minute thing (entirely my fault) and so rather than cancel it I popped a thread here. That way at least 10 (11 in this case) marshals will be going. Hopefully B.A.R. will be making this a regular (quarterly) fixture for marshals and so there should be plenty of other occasions in the future. I also tried to get a few other F1 teams to offer this to marshals but sadly had little response. When I get a chance I will write to a few more teams and see what can be done. |

Slightly off topic, the BARC have a prize draw for marshals to visit F1 teams. I was one of the lucky recipients of a visit to the McLaren factory at Woking last month. Due to "pitlane" connections, this turned out to be a "Super-tour", taking over three hours. A brilliant trip, well recommended to any future prize recipients.
Thank-you McLaren and BARC. |
