oh, yes. Let's see what'll happen with the michelin teams....
PLUS: Zonta comes out first (good news for JPM, the difference between first and second is big) so a Minardi will come out in the 3rd part of the qualies |

I wasn't watching F1's live timing because I didn't want to know how the laps were going (no live coverage for me), I jsut wanted to make sure the cars were actually running. So thank you for ruining the qualifying for me....

ehm, sorry my friend, but wasn't that supposed to be the meaning of this thread? Did I get it wrong? Anyway, it was only the first five to come out, so maybe many things will change.

ok, someone tell me. Should I or should I not post qualifying results and comments here? I thought it was obvious that if someone didn't want to see the results he would simply not look at this thread, but apparently I was wrong. So, please tell me if I should go on posting or not

Do post them.
If people don't want to know the results, don't look at a thread called qualifying. It's always been that way. |

Very good qualifying session, that.
Well done Trulli and Kimi. Montoya is 11th, at least you can overtake here. |

Fantastic lap by Trulli. Nice to see Fisichella outperform his teammate I wonder which lap Fisichella's car will fail on?

Just two entrants in the predictions competition correctly guessed Trulli on pole.

Strategies will be intriguing....
IMO Trulli is running light... Kimi probably running a 2 stopper like the rest... Ferrari's pace seems to be baffling... are they compettive here or not? their reaction to the times seems to suggest a good load of fuel onboard... |

I don't think the result is very good for Kimi. He could run with fuel for at least 5 extra laps and still get P2. But anyway, it's not bad I suppose

Anyway, what do you guys think regarding the fuel of each driver? My guess is Trulli is extremely light, Kimi has an average fuel load, Button must have just about the same. Fisichela maybe a bit more, same with Alonso. Schumacher? No idea. JPM: a bit more than Kimi. Williams could have much more, judging from their flying lap times, but again they weren't very strong anyway, so probably the difference is not that big.... What do you think? The obvious questions I think are: a) Kimi vs. Renaults, b) Schumacher, c) Trulli vs Kimi vs Button

I believe we'd probably see Kimi and Michael pit at around the same time, while the Renaults may come in a few laps later. The Renaults are fast enough relative to the rest of the grid to not be too much hindered by their earlier qualifying time, which probably cost them a couple of tenths.
Trulli would most likely come in early. I can't see any other reasons how Toyota can suddenly be lighting quick out of the blue. Ferrari is mixed there in the equation...but strategy wise, if they're going for what they do in Canada..they're in for a bit of a struggle. Hopefully, the race strategy isn't compromised for this event. The grid isn't as "mixed" as we hope to be despite having some top runners qualifying first. Probably see a good fight when JPM tries to catch up back the pack with his superior Mclaren. |

WOW Trulli on Pole. Didn't see that coming. Must be running light fuel load.
Another good qual for Kimmi and Jenson. Gee you could through a blanket over 3rd to 13th with less than 1/2 second in it. Looks to be a close race for the field. Ohh and low and behold, Webber out qualified Heidfeld again. |

I'm sure Trulli is three-stopping, and maybe running light by 3-stop standards. The team was probably looking for some positive publicity after a dodgy weekend, and decided to get it at the expense of race strategy. Kimi is surely in better shape for the victory. Renault probably have the best pace, but their early qualifying runs compromised them too much to take pole. Should be an interesting race, assuming they do race of course....
