Update on potential US Bank sponsorship

Hello, Folks,

I received confirmation last night that, as previously commented in this forum, US Bank is looking into sponsoring Champ Cars but that such program - if it comes to light - will likely be focused on races and not teams.

This means that what US Bank is considering buying the naming rights to an event (as title sponsor) and quite possibly being a partner with Champ Cars - with actions as operating banking booths and mobile branches at race tracks. On the other hand, it appears that US Bank is not planning on sponsoring a team or driver - at least not for the time being.

This information was cleared to be posted here (I was told that posting it would not jeopardize such sponsorship plans).

Regards,

Muzza

Does it sounds like multiple races or just one race? Is it for this season or next? Either way it's good news. Thanks for posting more great info.

I think US Bank was involved in Cleveland in 2004 (maybe 2003).

I'm not sure to what extent but I have a t-shirt somewhere that has US Bank and Cleveland on it from the race.

Actually even this year in Cleveland it was "2005 Champ Car Grand Prix of Cleveland Presented by U.S. Bank"

I hope they expand their involvement.
