FIM Winners Game --> Australia

Third last round!

Finally we arrive to the under-world (sorry ). Difficult GP for tyre manufacturers, having less grip without the help of gravity.

At least Sete will not be able to fall out of his bike...

Philip Island is one of the best bike tracks in the world. I fondly remember Gardner going flat out thru the curves in these gold years when we have some "immortals: Lawson, Rainey, Schwanz,... What an epoch!

If Blue is awake to guess we have lost already, but if he is kind enough to be distracted, maybe we have another chance. Obviously I'm avoiding any (painful) mention to BOTTY, who is threatening to smash us again.

Rules are:

----------------------------------------------

Object of the game:
You have to guess the winner. You can put one, two, three or four riders as winners.

Scoring:
If you put one rider and he wins, you get 4 points.
If you put two two riders and one of them wins, you get 3 points.
In case you put 3 names and one wins, you get 2.5 points.
If you choose to put four names, and one of them wins, you get 2 points.
If you fail to guess the winner, you get 0 points.

Time limit:
Guesses can be done until one hour before the first race (125, 250 or MotoGP, whatever it is). Usually it will be one hour before 125 race.

Remarks:
Every FIM GP three guesses can be entered: for 125cc, 250cc and MotoGP. Those are three differents games, so you can enter only one or two categories if you like.

Appart from the three classifications (125, 250 and MotoGP), I'll put a "global" classification adding all of them.

The key of the game is to predict the winner putting the least possible numbers of candidates. But if you put too few riders, you risk getting 0 points!

Example:

Let's suppose in Jerez you had put these guesses:
125 = Simoncelli, P.Nieto, Lai (you get 2.5 points for Simoncelli)
250 = Porto, Dovizioso (you get 0 point, you failed)
MotoGP = Gibernau, Rossi (you get 3 points for Rossi)

Good fun for everybody!

Just in case I cannot access later. A "blank" guess:

125cc: Kallio, Talmacsi, Luthi, Pasini
250cc: Pedrosa, Stoner
MotoGP: Rossi, Capirossi

(Is Capi OK for this GP? Anyway this is my guess by now!)

capirossi and Kenny Roberts will not be competing this weekend.

Roberts has a broken wrist and Loris has some internal injuries after they both fell at turn 1

This round was won by [obvious]Blue[/obvious]. BOTTY did well as always, apparently, and we have a surprise with the newcomer bestfit who got 8 points using a risky approach.

BTW, BOTTY's guess was, according to the procedure formerly "published", 125:Kal, Tal, Lut; 250: Ped, Sto; MotoGP: Ros, Hay.
Code:
AUSTRALIA

125cc
bestfit 4
Dani F 3
Botty 2.5
Bleu 2.5
Hazza 2.5
Schummy 2
Saleen 2

250cc:
Botty 3
Bleu 2.5
Saleen 2.5
Schummy 2

MotoGP:
Bleu 4
bestfit 4
Dani F 4
marcus 3
Saleen 3
Botty 3
Hazza 2.5
Schummy 2.5

Total:
Bleu 9
Botty 8.5
bestfit 8
Saleen 7.5
Dani F 7
Schummy 6.5
Hazza 5
marcus 3
In 125cc Bleu is in charge again but 5 people are near (but hopeless I'm afraid )
Code:
125cc: 5 10
Bleu 11 ----+----+o
Schummy 10 ----+----o
Hazza 9.5 ----+---o
BOTTY 9.5 ----+---o
SALEEN 9.5 ----+---o
marcus 9 ----+---o
Dani F 5.5 ----o
bestfit 4 ---o
beau1 3 --o

Start-->        -->Finish
| B |
| bbD mSB |
| S |
| H |
In 250cc I am in the lead even with a little gap :-O . Yes, I'm going to enjoy it until it goes wrong Probably Hazza ends winning.
Code:
250cc: 5 10
Schummy 11.5 ----+----+o
Hazza 9.5 ----+---o
BOTTY 9 ----+---o
Bleu 8 ----+--o
Dani F 8 ----+--o
SALEEN 7.5 ----+-o
beau1 6 ----+o
marcus 6 ----+o

Start-->        -->Finish
| mSDB S
| b BH
BOTTY has virtually won in MotoGP because "it" has a solid advantage with just two rounds to go. The only hope is a non-Rossi win and someone guessing it.
Code:
MotoGP: 5 10
BOTTY 15 ----+----+----o
Schummy 12.5 ----+----+-o
Dani F 12 ----+----+-o
Hazza 12 ----+----+-o
Bleu 11 ----+----+o
marcus 9 ----+---o
beau1 8.5 ----+--o
SALEEN 8 ----+--o
bestfit 4 ---o

Start-->        -->Finish
| S
| b Sm BH B
| b D
I was leading the Total classification last time, but now BOTTY is breathing in my neck (I know already that I'm going to lose against this beast) and Bleu (who was awake this time) is now nearly (lol, I also know I'm going to lose against this "best"). At least I think I have a good cushion for the third rostrum position with Hazza, Dani, SALEEN and marcus ("the attack of the moderaclones" ).
Code:
Total: 10 20 30
Schummy 34 ----+----+----+-o
BOTTY 33.5 ----+----+----+-o
Bleu 30 ----+----+----o
Hazza 26 ----+----+--o
Dani F 25.5 ----+----+--o
SALEEN 25 ----+----+-o
marcus 24 ----+----+-o
beau1 17.5 ----+---o
bestfit 8 ---o

Start-->        -->Finish
| b b mSH B BS
| D
