Great news about Nico - a bit of baptism of fire going next to Webber, but I guess all of F1 is jumping in the deep end.
Cool - one happy Williams fan over here, and it isn't too often I've been able to say that recently! |

How far away is Hill III and Berger Jnr ?
Maybe if lotus was still around Marco Andretti would be getting a test as well ? |

People are being quite unreasonable here. Nico went into a brand new championship in which everyone was even, with a new team which was not on the ultimate pace until mid-season, against a hugely promising field of youngsters, many of whom had planned in advance for this season, and he won the championship. Suggesting that he's only getting his chance because he's the son of a world champion is silly - Derek Hill never got a chance in F1, neither has either Scheckter brother, and I don't think Matthias Lauda has had so much as a test. Like it or not, Nico and Nelsinho are both highly promising drivers.

But Derek Hill and Mathias Lauda have at least had chances in 2nd tier racing that other drivers would kill for. And Christian Jones has, come to that. More than, say, Jamie Green. |

Jamie Green could have been in GP2 - he had a sponsor willing to do it - but he chose instead to take a more lucrative deal driving for Mercedes.

Franks gettin his point accross there aint he. Pizza man will be fumin with that one. He was so great in single seaters and f3000 where did it all go wrong for the fela. The hard work was done he got through the f1 door and into the porch all he had to do was deliever. And he had more chances than some people dream of.

Today's Autosport is saying it is a done deal. No official announcement yet, but it looks likely.

I would hope Albers would be the 2nd driver, with Rosberg as no.3 for a season...

Albers has been a pleasant surprise this year, and the fact that he's reached Formula 1 (despite no F3 experience and a truly awful F3000 season) shoould show even the most cynical Jamie Green fans that he still has every chance of reaching F1 if he can shine in the DTM (especially as, unlike Albers, he has manufacturer connections).
Pizzonia has had several chances in F1 and has only occasionally impressed, and I don't think it would make sense for Wiliams to persevere with him, especially now that the Petrobras money is unlikely to be crucial. Nico is a huge talent for the future, even before you consider name appeal, and a transitional season is the ideal time to blood a rookie. |

Speed Tv supports these moves.
http://speedtv.com/articles/auto/formulaone/20274/ Also suggesting that Pizzonia might not want a 3rd driver role in 2006, going against what was reported in Autosport. From the article, Rosberg said "It shouldn't be a problem to drive against Mark as long as I get a lot of winter testing". Looks like we got another nice inter team rivalry for 2006, with Rosberg plannning to drive 'against' Webber. |

Bear in mind that German, not English is Nico's first language - I don't think he meant that to sound agressive.
I see Rosberg as doing a great job next year - and Webber too. The question marks are chassis related |

The same news as reported in other foreign language sites do not carry out the negative tone of what is discussed here. Besides, from the little German I know, this is not the kind of mistake a Germanophone speaking little English would make ("gegen" = "against" while "mit" = "with"). The Dutch version seems having him quoted as saying something like "racing next to Webber"). All this to say that it is amazing the different feeling you get of the same news depending upon the language in which it is reported. |

Well it still isn't confirmed and everyone has been saying that it'll happen for weeks (if not from the early tests)! Who originally guessed right will be lost in the mists of time.
