With or without the calculations the Corvette C6R was the best GT1 car of 2006. Hope Prodrive can make the AM a little bit better and beat the Corvette next season.

Im sure Prodrive will come back fighting . With all those cars potientially sold , they wont sit on their laurals this winter . Giv'em a chance like , its their first year with a new car and they have done well in my opinion . Everybody was cheering for Taurus , what did they do apart from run a tractor at Le Mans !!
I would be surprised it Corvette have it all their own way next year . That last GT1 scrap in the last Alms race was just amazing , thats what I would like to see more of next year , and hopefully with Acemco too . |

Thanks for all the comments. I am particualrly pleased that the majority, so far, tend to agree with my statistical conclusion that Corvette was 2005's best GT1.
Even though the C6.R is newer, numbers show that the most points, by my method, were collected by the very highly developed C5-R in 2005: C5-R Chassis C5R-007 = 9 points C5-R Chassis C5R-011 = 107 C6.R Chassis C6R-001 = 27 C6.R Chassis C6R-002 = 46 Total = 189 C5R-007, the SRT Corvette (above), ran in the FIA GT Spa 24 hr and gathered the Corvette points because the Carsport C5R-011 was excluded post-race for a technical infraction. |

Good work David. As has been pointed out, there are plenty of problems with such an approach, but well done for giving it a go.
In terms of pace and strength over the balance of the season, I would say that the C6R is the best GT1 car of 2005, with the DBR9 next (it loses out here because it appeared in fewer races). It's this, comment, however, that rings truest with me: Quote:

I just have to say I just found this site today and this is the first thread I read, after searching for C6.R and I am already amazed by and in love with this site and many of the contributors.
