NO JLMS in 2006
Autosport is reporting that due to a lack of interest from teams with prototypes that the series will not be happening next year. But Goh Racing will be running a Mazza MC12 in the Supergt Series next year.

A bit of a shame but not entirley unexpected, is it? Maybe it could happen in 2007, everything did seem a bit rushed together IMO.

That probably explains why none of the old LMP900/675 prototypes have been snapped up post Istanbul. There's no shortage of good equipment for sale at the moment. I think it's what you'd call a buyers market........

Unfortunate, but not entirely unexpected either. Perhaps with a longer lead time, they can get something off the ground for 07'.... or not.

It says that Mr Goh is running an MC12 in Super GT because "We don't see any competitors in the prototype class" but it doesn't say the series is being cancelled. |

The MC12 can probably run unrestricted in Super GT. It will be interesting to see how it goes.

Well, that's a shame if the JLMS doesn't get off the ground next year. But that doesn't mean it wont eventually. The interest and intent seems to be there.
As for the MC12 in Super GT, isn't that a long shot at being competitive? It doesn't seem like the cars that were built for ACO rules racing have done particularly well there. |

It is also possible that Jan could be running with TRG in Grand Am again too.

Is it possible that Jan is not running with the Corvette team next year? He's pretty much accomplished what he can with them. At least as a third driver. Or has he already been confirmed for next year?

I interpreted this article in a different way. JLMS will not see up to date MGs, Panoz, Bentleys or Pescarolos, so I read it to say Goh didn't want to run a car that would put people off running other, less advanced, LMPs.

Their last race is on 29 Oct, that should be just a week after FIA GT Zhuhai.
They are also looking for cars. If you have one for sale, then email: Info@lmchallenge.jp |

Top tip - if you are setting up a series for cars that are currently mostly owned by Europeans & Americans, have a TRANSLATE function on your website!
