as somebody that ran in Britcar this year, I can tell you this. Unless something VERY drastic happends, I would never consider running in Brit GT, the format, attitude, organisation just are not for me.

All being well, I will be running in Britcar again next year (all be it with a change of car) and possibly doing a few rounds with Group-C in EU.

Way I see it, given the choice of Brit GT or Britcar, you would need a dam good reason to go with GT.

Simon, Obviously you have to chose the best series for you and your sponsors, if any.

British GT, before SRO, was a decent series with a mix of race formats and very good organisation from the BRDC, so it was a viable route for teams and drivers to develop before moving onto international sportscar series. You will find a significant number of british teams in both FIA Gt and LMES. The lower end of the BGT fields might well find themselves been more competitive in the less demanding and less intensive Britcar package.

The changes the SRO have applied to the race format, and organisation have damaged the series and the whole F3/GT package. For an organisation that claims to be marketing and promotion based, skill in both areas is sadly lacking. The attitude of SRO is very bad and does nothing to create goodwill towards the series. Also handing the running of the package to the BRSCC was and is a major mistake.

RE: me...

I don't wish to run a 911 or 360, so GT is out for me.

I have nothing against 911's etc, but when the serise are all skewed towards them and the like, it does nothing to encorage entries from *other* cars.

if they carry on this this, you will end up with another 911 serise, this is NOT GT racing, they sould be encoraging a mixed field.

The mixed field is what I used to love about BGT - sadly it's gone somewhat awry of late...

Wasn't that caused by the BRDC wanting out?

IMO I don’t think it wasn't "handed" to the BRSCC they were the cheapest, I believe that next year the BRDC are running the Silverstone 24 hour not the BRSCC.
I liked the Power Tour format different race lengths for me that worked, I don’t like this two 1 hour races over two days.
