Rob Huff

I was watching the 2004 BTCC review today and it reminded me how bl**dy well (I think so anyway!) Rob Huff did in his first year in Touring Cars with two wins and was regularly in the top half dozen and was wondering why SEAT haven't nabbed him back this year for the BTCC or WTCC.
Must confess I don't know - but assume he is back again with Chevrolet next year ?

I can't remember where I read it - but I thought he was on a multi-year deal?

I would have thought it prudent that Chevrolet keep all three all this years drivers for 2006 as all of them have a proven track record, also having an unchanged line up will probably assist the continued development of the car.

His new crash helmet with Chevrolet logo painted on it was completed recently, so I think we can take it that he is back.

The Chevy programme will come good sooner rather than later, he's placed perfectly to take advantage of it at the moment.

Tung in cheek i think...

Great shame to have lost Rob from the BTCC, at least we found the talent, it could be spotted early in Clio's

At least he's done VERY well for himself. Can't be a bad income either, world class racing driver + girl friend who's a radio DJ

Not heard for definate but it was generally assumed that the trio of drivers for Chevrolet were on at least a two season plan, a lot of data was gathered for the new car and results were coming together by season end so with any luck, next season should see a few more surprises.

I can't see them changing the line-up can you? They seemed to work well together.

It shouldn't suprise anybody that Rob has shown a bit of class amongst the big boys.

I seem to remember that he went through the lower ranks with Renault without any major backing but rather on scholarships and deals done on the back of results. Wasn't he pretty good in Privateer MGs also?

I wish him well for 06, but in a way it is a little sad that he only stayed in the BTCC for a realtively short time.

Still is - watched him thrash the field a couple of times this year.

In some respects I wish he was still in the BTCC but he made the right decision to stay with RML and when he gets that first win in the WTCC I'll be leaping up and down.
