The corkscrew isn't to be flattened, that is practically impossible, but hte bump is to be flattened just before it. Of course that is still a drastic, important and horrible change.

How to get round it? Let those who don't want to race there race elsewhere.

If there is room a chicane for the bikes could be installed before the rise (assuming it it the speed of approach that is the problem)? That would leave the current circuit for those hard enough to take it. Is there room?

This campaign has largely been led by Valentino Rossi who has said that the whole circuit is dangerous with many sections being very dangerous as the bikes are taking off several times per lap, especially before the corkscrew. However he has been faced with the scorn of most of his fellow riders who are really annoyed at the proposed changes, as are many car drivers, noteably Herta. Most think that it is all part of the great challenge of Laguna Seca & I agree. Surely if the bikes are jumping in the same places each lap then the riders should be able to adjust their riding to cope with this. If they can't then they should go somewhere else, rather than try to lessen the challenge of one of the best corners in the world. Race at Mid-Ohio or something-don't spoil Laguna for everybody else!

Indeed, there must be a way to keep the corkscrew and - add something for the bikes i'm thinking;

With the cars using the normal track.

That would solve the problem to an extent, but it still wouldn't pacify half the bike riders as it would remove the challenge. However, one thing is for certain-if Rossi is worried by small jumps we'll never see him having a go at the Isle of Man TT!

I have to admit if this is treu I am beginning to get a little tired of mr Rossi.
First he says he doesnt want to be sponsored by fag money then his team sign up for Camel which he no dount would have known about!
Then coz he didnt win he wants to change a circuit that offers more challenge than most in the name of safety!
Seems like he is more and more the F1 driver!

I agree. Though I do love his riding, off track Mr Rossi is becoming a pain in the rear. There are some times when a star rider needs to speak out in the name of safety but this isnt one of them. It is the same as at Spa a couple of years back where Michael Schumacher asked for the second past of the bus stop to be eased & it was done, without consulting any other top level drivers. What are the circuit owners playing at?

F1 (like top level football) is the best formula to be in if you like whinging. I mean most of the drivers get paid more for an hours work than us mere mortals get for a whole year.......and in their eyes all is STILL wrong with the world!!

Racing = good
Whinging = vvvvvvv bad!

It would be sad to see the Corkscrew go. Perhaps they should come up with some sort of bypass or an alternative corner and leave the Corkscrew intact.
